CEPS Well Hung Parliament (CEPS Social/Off Topic)

hey they don't call me Mor-Man for nothing' !

seriously though, I am a born Mormon , true blue through and through.... I am even descended from polygamist Mormons.... I can attest to the fact that if you want a happy normal sober family oriented lifestyle , the Mormon society and religion can help you with that. But doctrinally, even though it goes really deep, there are some major problems with it in my opinion .

Can we please reopen the Hillary health watch thread?

I understood at the time that it was very speculative but now that major news agencies have reported on it can we please have it reopened?

From all reports it is looking more and more lie she is not healthy enough to hold the highest office in the world.

That the seizures are from blood clots she had surgery on and that she could very well be facing a major neurological problem.

Anyone else know why she hasn't faced any non scripted questions sense December?

We don't need another Reagan...

Freedom of the press????

Just realized it was reopened
Thanks!

(old but relevant to my opinions on this election.)

I think its pretty widely known that democrats did not oppose slavery.

For whatever reasons, conservative positions appear more inherently racial. At least in modern times.

Too many people cry racist these days. The term is diluted to meaninglessness.

No,,sadly not really. I told a number of perspective voters some facts about the history of the Democratic Party and their racism and it took a lot of history book lessons (and patience on all sides) before many conceded they had been lied to (or badly misinformed) about who kept who enslaved, who did the lynching ,who gave civil rights, and who opposed them. I don't call the Democratic Party the party of the KKK just for kicks.

^I just asked Miss Swilow (who has very little interest in politics rather opting for reactionary leftism as a default allah bless her) if she knew that, and she didn't. That doesn't mean much, but yeah. I recall being very surprised at that, in the general narrative of the last few decades at least, the democrats are the 'good guys' and the republicans the 'bad'. But of course nothing is ever that simple or clear cut.

However, the Democrats of the modern era are quite different from its previous incarnations. The ideals of 130 years don't really reflect their modern ideals, at least on the surface. The Republicans aren't fighting for the abolition of slavery anymore. I don't know if the past positions of a political party tell you much about their current positions.

That said, if the Nazi party ever re-arose and returned to power, I'm not sure what length of time would break the association with the holocaust.

Anyway, enough politicking, this is the social thread. I think we are meant to be social and discuss the weather.

MGS, I hadn't seen you for a while on BL, I reckon 18 months or so. I am glad to see your name... Are you well? :)

I appreciate you asking...I am doing great! I am the healthier, mentally and physically, than I have been in ages...certainly since 2013. Working hard to come back from years of stagnation and loathing. More to come, I am sure...I'Ll look forward to sharing all of my observations of friends, family, and the nation during this upheaval. Very happy my excesses did not get the best of me...and sooo grateful for all of the support I've had...been a crazy road but the lessons were priceless. Great reading material for the ages one day. %)

Gnight folks.

^Really glad to hear it, I recall that you were battling before you left. I had a similar thing, opiate relapse but I managed to reign it in. Still chipping to some extent so not out of the woods just yet.

Opiates suck, I just know that I probably have more relapses in my future. But right now I'm good.

Hope you stick around. Still talking nonsense in PS :)

That said, if the Nazi party ever re-arose and returned to power, I'm not sure what length of time would break the association with the Holocaust …

Probably never; they chose the wrong people to piss off (not to mention invade and do violence to), but it is a testament to the power of branding, starting with the tilting Northward of the axis of power in the Democrat party and subsequent confusion which was of course used against them in the "Southern strategy," but that was a time where there were still authentically "liberal" and "conservative" factions of the two parties, something which continued until even into the 1990s, but the moonbat-left constituency of the former Party of Segregation wound up winning the branding war. And the party of Segregation Now, Segregation Tomorrow … has become the party of the constitutional right to use the bathroom of your choice.

Sucks, because just strictly in terms of brand recognition and fashion sense (which was got from Italy … Hugo Boss, in fact, who definitely had more of an eye for lines than Thor Steinar does today, the fashion conscious neofascist must admit), I think it's safe to say that nobody in modern political history could hold a candle to the NSDAP. Too bad that's the best brand the anti-bourgeois Right possibly ever had since what, l'état, c'est moi? Probably because all the people who go to school to study branding and memes lean left and when they lean right they're more likely to go into advertising than politics, but what's the difference anymore? Now it's all about the memes. Look at the furore over Pepe the Meme-Frog, now declared a "symbol of hate." Well, Mr Foxman, at least I don't have a tattoo of a frog

I'm not sure that the Nazis "pissed off" the wrong people. :\

The left stand for a lot more than bathrooms but its common practise to trivialize opposing ideas. Its not all that useful though.

That post was mostly an attempt at injecting a little humor or satire, anyway … :p Or at least invoking stark contrasts, based on (sad, all the way through) facts. You know what they say about over explaining a joke, though. Being the social thread and all. I'm also glad to see MGS posting again, or at least on a spree :)
