CEPS Well Hung Parliament (CEPS Social/Off Topic)

I noticed a few members here might be part of the 'truther' community. If interested I found this new program from former RT host Abby Martin.

feel free to fact check it..

based on my recent decoding of certain rays of something (i guess fm or am radio maybe) i have come to the conclusion that they are going to execute me. similar to John the Baptist. if i don't recounce my beliefs. i will stand strong though, God is great.

p.s. when negative interest rates are introduced it's ride or die time, don't choose hell.

Via reddit.

I've seen some decent questions and occasionally amazingly well written and supported answers in /r/asksocialscience/. I also garner undue upvotes because I have expert flair in there. :P
Seriously...like a beginning 4 for no reason, when I only make a brief quip bearing little insight. . .

(as a reddit aside, someone replying to me with a link to /r/iamverysmart/ is kinda my least favorite thing...

I am oddly entertained by /r/badhistory. Especially when they go into full blown pedantic mode over the most meaningless stuff. If you think I'm exaggerating, here's an example.

Impressions from the recent UN General Assembly

- Eurasia will now take the leading role in the disputed land south of Turkey.

- Eastasia will continue to exert and extend its power not only to the south but will be making inroads into the disputed territories in central and west Africa.

- Oceania will continue to exert influence in the regions of North Africa and the Middle East via its Zionist proxy.

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face- forever!

Same social thread? really? Must not have missed much.

house I was staying in had a fire, moved around for a little over 2 years to places where I couldn't set up my computer and/or without internet. Fun. I'm back now though.

%)

Quick question for you brahs...

How do you guys become more involved in the political landscape of your community?

I would like to be more active, and am relocating back to my home out west soon, but looking for ideas.

^I suppose that depends on what you mean. If you have specific causes in mind and you're moving near a sizable city, look for organizations in the area that sound interesting. If that fails, look for national organizations and see if there's a local chapter. If THAT fails, start your own ;)

If you're trying to get more involved in municipal or state government, they're never not looking for volunteers to canvass, intern and rally. I've moved well over a dozen times (large distances) and have found political activity to get myself into everywhere I go. I've been an activist, legislative intern, canvasser for non-profits, etc. It's quite easy to get into if you know where to look.

well there are very few Mexicans in China...... just sayin.

I stumbled across a mention of Look Who's Back, by Timur Vermes.

There's an English translation of the book (although the movie seems limited to Germany). The premise is simple - Hitler wakes up in Berlin, in the summer of 2011. There's no reason given - one moment, he's in the closing days of WWII, the next, he's alive and well in modern Germany, but without the knowledge of what happened in the meantime.

Hitler, being Hitler, starts ranting about his changed fatherland. He quickly comes to the attention of the German public who concludes he's a brilliant impersonator who never breaks character. Hitler becomes quite famous. The media treats him as a star, believing he's an actor who can't honestly mean what he's saying...

WTF America is this the best we have to offer

Ok so the democrat that's going to be the candidate is gonna be Hillary and I can't believe I'm typing this but the Republican nod is gonna be Trump. What the fuck! I mean even if it isn't Trump it would be Ted Cruz,Jeb fucking Bush,Carson,or Santorum . Is this the best our country has to offer?
I mean we have just had two back to back inept two term presidents and it seems like shit is only going to get worse. This is why I'm a registered independent!
Umm why was my thread merged here? It's kinda lost in a sea of miscellaneous shit?

I was reading about Joseph Müller today.

He was a Catholic priest in Nazi Germany. One day, he told a joke about a soldier who was mortally wounded. As this soldier laid dying, he asked one last time to see the people he was fighting for. His comrades put a picture of Hitler on one side of him, and a picture of Göring on the other side of him. The dying soldier looked at the pictures and said that he truly felt like Jesus, dying between two criminals. (For the non-religious, Jesus was crucified along with two convicts, one on either side.)

Joseph Müller was found guilty of treason and executed for his joke by Nazi Germany in 1944.

in need of some new controversey. gun control and immigration/refugee talk is getting old. don't feel like any of those threads are going anywhere constructive. need some hype!
