CE&P social thread: why do the people I disagree with hate freedom so much?

China's economy isn't that hot right now. There is talk about a Chinese recession.

The official numbers from China don't look too bad, but the exports market looks pretty horrible. And there's still that housing bubble...

Very true, they are suffering because of the recession in the EU and US. However their growth rate is still very high.

It will be interesting to see if china can manage to convert their economy into more services and less manufacuting so they are less vulerable to the ebb and flow of the rest of the world, which is why this is such a critical moment in Chinese history as their new leaders will be making decisions that determine the outcome.

And yes they have a housing bubble similar to what we had in the US a decade ago. The major difference I see between them and us is is that they have a massive rural community that still lives off of a few dollars a day. So the potential demand for housing is still there if they can find a way to modernize their geographic interior.

However, if growth continues to slow as it has been we could be looking at revolution in China, which will probably be met with brutal force by the government.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the world reacts to such events if they occur.

Arent you going to lecture me about how noble the CCP is and how my schooling has turned me into a hopeless westernized drone?

noble? ummm... peoples is peoples yo. i'm not fussed by your assessment and predictions. :) your post wasn't as blindingly ravenous as posts by some in the past.

i just doubt any revolution over there.

It's affecting New York, and judging by the news, New York is 70% of America.

hahaha. movies too!

you know i'm almost sick of new york, seing it everywhere makes me almost not want to visit again. to be frank at the moment i'd rather go to ...

What does that mean?

people want to have noble intentions the world over, but both get corrupted and make mistakes. we are all faulty. no one state is utterly noble.

the redundant pluralisation was just sillyness on my part.

Are you implying that the intention of the politboro in China is noble in any way, shape or form?

They control the financial sector and use that control to suppress the wages of their citizens. These cheap wages attract foreign business to move production to China. They use this to their own personal gain by creating private companies owned by their members with support of the government with a monopoly on a 1.3 billion person market. The result is that Chinese people work for a small fraction of what they labor would be worth in a free market, CCP members get extremely rich, and Americans get cheap made in china stuff.

Seems like slavery for profit to me.

ugh... i'm not even gonna bother with this futility. believe what you want. i really don't care what you like to think if it makes you feel all nice and smart and safe.

Recently ive been very unhappy with where im at in life. Working near full time (just enough so they dont have to give me benefits) for 11$ an hour, going to school full time, barely getting by, in a town full of self righteous republicans who think young people and minorities are whats wrong with America. My social life has suffered a lot because I literally have 1 day a week where im not busy all day (had to lie to my work to get it off). The few friends that are still in town aren't interested in anything except getting high/drunk, playing video games or going out and wasting a ton of money on beers/food with people I dont even like.

In a way I think it might be a good thing though, if my situation was better I might be less motivated to make something of myself and get out of this shithole. I need a change.

Next year cant come fast enough.
