Anyone else really curious why a truck, being driven by what I must assume to have been two unarmed women, seems to have been shot from behind?

I can't think of a plausible scenario where the cops were justified to shoot. This seems like an unlawful shooting. I hope I'm wrong.

So to sum up: wrong people, wrong make of car, wrong model of car, wrong color of car, license plates didn't match, no orders, no warning, one severe injury, and no Dorner. Solid police work, LAPD.

Not that I would excuse such shoddy police work, but I think that it would take a uniquely level-headed person to not be at the brink of psychosis given what has already transpired (man threatens to murder any police officer and any police officer's family he comes into contact with; does so; continues to do so; and remains at large). Whether or not this should spark more of the usual knee-jerk reactions from both sides of the gun control fence on CEP, I am pretty happy it has been contained in this thread.
 
In The Civil War (episode 9), Forrest's membership in the Ku Klux Klan is mentioned, but it is noted that he left when it became too violent, even for him.

Well, he was considered an "untutored genius" and it can be said the was intelligent and honorable enough to not carry through with his membership in that terrorist organization.

However, I don't feel that modern day tea baggers share Gen. Forrest's sensibilities.

I went to an 85% black HS in SW GA. I had this shirt that had Forrest on the back with a confederate flag it simply said "officer and gentleman." I wore it to school all the time I was not racist and was tight with all my teachers and a good bit of class mates and that was the late late 90s. Now you would be on CNN for that shit; how times have changed. That being said at least forrest was in the KKK during a more "socially acceptable" time.
