If you want to talk about simplistic sloganeering, let us not leave out the armchair diagnosing of self-serving phobias and philias, along with resorting to the anti-scientific "it's a social construct".
Bumper-stickers cannot provide explanations of any one phenomenon in a variety of situations. This is what ideologies try to do, whether they be religious, political or economic. And eventually an ideology comes across a situation where it does function and causes great suffering.
The whole keynesian vs. Austrian economics at the moment, schiff has gotten it right currently doesn't mean that there aren't situations where it won't fail.
