I cant find the 1000 tornadoes warning, but I did find this:

Weather Journal: A Rare Super Storm This Way Comes

A severe-weather outbreak could arrive on New York City’s doorstep Thursday evening, in an event that might prompt comparisons to the meteorological conditions prior to Washington D.C.’s derecho last month.

According to the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., there is “potential for a widespread damaging wind event/derecho” on Thursday afternoon and evening stretching from roughly Cincinnati to Hartford. Some 32 million people will be in the path of the storm, including those in and around New York City. Derechos can pack straight-line winds of hurricane force (74 mph) or greater, causing extensive damage and lingering power outages.

Forecasters upgraded the entire tri-state to a “moderate risk” of severe weather Thursday, specifically noting that the New York City area will also have an unusually high chance of tornadoes as well. At the moment, the city itself has about a 45% chance of experiencing winds stronger than hurricane force in the evening...

As someone who lives in tornado valley, it is evident when one experiences a tornado first-hand, that tornadoes are the most destructive force of atmospheric weather, and are a good cause for alarm. But.. yeah... 1,000 tornadoes in 5 hours? 8) I thought the OP that Unbreakable copy pasta'd from lunaticoutpost.com said it'd be 1,000 tornados in 6 hours. Meh.

And the grand total was...

...maybe 2. The Huffington and Washington Posts make it sound like there could have been a couple tornadoes, but they're not sure because the damage was so minimal (it was mostly downed trees and powerlines). So...yeah.

Let us never forget the "Night of Upset Lawn Chairs".

I laughed how they showed the all the Home nations scoring rugby tries except the English who they showed kicking a top goal. Typical fucking boring England ;)

I spent my entire afternoon getting stoned and cooking various ethnic foods - no time for the Olympics on my tight schedule.

I thought this was humorous

When our health care costs are completely out of control. Do you realize what health care spending is as a percentage of the GDP in Israel? 8 percent. You spend 8 percent of GDP on health care. And you’re a pretty healthy nation. We spend 18 percent of our GDP on health care. 10 percentage points more. That gap, that 10 percent cost, let me compare that with the size of our military. Our military budget is 4 percent. Our gap with Israel is 10 points of GDP. We have to find ways, not just to provide health care to more people, but to find ways to finally manage our health care costs.
~Mitt Romney, this morning in Israel

He's talking of course about the result of Israel's 1995 National Health Insurance Law which made government regulated/subsidized universal mandates compulsory for all citizens.
