They give the option of choosing which philosophical era you want to study. Im choosing to focus on post Machiavelli rather than ancient philosophy. Im about 1/3 of the way done with my upper division courses. So far most of the theory ive learned about has been in the realm of international political relations, and breaks down into the categories of marxism/liberalism/realism/constructivism. Its interesting to see how the different theories came in and out of vogue over the course of history to create the regimes in the international system we have today. My professors mainly focused on people that contributed to these theories (Kant, Thucydides, Smith, Gramsci, Marx, Lenin, Machiavelli ect).
Im also taking political analysis classes, which is basically advanced statistics with a focus on politics, definitely the hardest and most tedious of the classes in my major.
Im not afraid of law school, im afraid of not having a job once I graduate I did mock trial in high school and would love to be a trial attorney but the path to get to that point is very narrow so im not sure if I want to risk it.
