Caught with cocaine in a club, evidence on film and sent to police - advice?

So I was caught by bouncers doing coke in a club toilet. Socked my wrap and thought I'd try and blag it in the hope they'd let me go for lack of evidence. These fuckers have go pro's strapped to their chests and they're shining a torch up my nose, proceed to search me. They tell me to hand it over and they won't call the police but I insist I'm clean (probably foolish), they find it in my sock.
Guy takes it upstairs. Big boss guy comes down and asks me for ID, tells me I'm lucky it's not Saturday as the cops wouldn't be so busy and I'd be arrested right now %). He takes a photo of my ID and tells me the drugs and the ID (and I suppose the GoPro footage as well) will be sent to the police.

My question is, what are the odds I can expect a visit from the feds? Assuming the club actually follow through with their threats. There was probably 0.3g in the wrap, a minor amount so I'm not too worried, but I'm debating whether to hide my drug box for peace of mind. I don't know how the law works in these sort of cases.

I dont think anyone can tell you whats likely to happen. My guess is that they would have kept the drugs and sniffed em ten minutes after you left. Thats just a guess though. They could have given the cops your id and the coke in which case it then depends on how busy the cops are. If they are not busy you may indeed get a visit but i doubt they would have a search warrant or anything. Its in the hands of the gods really but my guess is you'll be ok

I would almost guarantee you won't be hearing anything more about this. No police officer is going to get a warrant to search someone's house, for less than a third of a gramme of coke. Dealers are the priority of the police. I highly doubt that they've even reported you to the police. The bouncers will have had your drugs, rather than deal with the hassle of reporting a very small crime. They have no reason to believe that you're a dealer, so what's the point in raiding your house, for simple possession? It'll be the bouncers and boss just trying to scare you.

At a guess i'd say the cameras are to make sure the club owner gets the lion's share of confiscated loot.

But, as above - i don't think any of us can really know the answer to this.

My advice - you were caught with a white powder in a club.

Can a bouncer do an invasive search looking up your nose - that is a 'cavity search' which should require police to be present (medical professional in some cases).

Was the substance tested in front of you and on camera ? With a case file and number ?

I certainly would not worry about this going any further if police were not called there and then.

Yeah, good point. In terms of admissible evidence, legal search and seizure - only in a totally corrupt legal system would any of that shit stick.

Welcome to Bluelight, sorry your first post is a one that is clearly worrying you.

Unfortunately we don't allow legal questions so I will have to close it. In my unprofessional opinion I'd agree with the other unprofessional opinions above. Seek proper legal advice should it come to it. I doubt it will though.

Just realised it's not really a legal question. I seriously doubt they'd bother you. It'd have to be a very slow day, and they're few and far between this time of year for the old bill.

My mate got charged for a 0.1g of coke in a wrap in his house when they raided it. Nothing they expected there but they did him for that, name in the paper, the lot.

What I.D did they photo?

If it was a bank card I'd be inclined to report it as lost and keep an eye on recent transactions.

Maybe that's a bit paranoid... buy it's what I would do.

They will do if they've gone to the time and expense of raiding a house, especially if they haven't turned up anything the raid was intended for.

To be fair you never really know what they're likely to do, I've been done for the most minor of things and been let off with no fine, caution or even paperwork for something fairly serious. I've been extremely lucky twice actually.

I can't really see how this would hold up in court. Yes, they may have video evidence of powder up your nose/photographed your ID, but the police did not seize the evidence - the management did. You can have been snorting anything, legal or illegal. The establishment has no way of proving that what they confiscated from you was not tampered with.

See emphasised section. If the Old Bill don't find the evidence they were hoping for, then they will just have to make do with the next best thing, just out of spite. If they've already spent money on getting a collar to feel, they're going to want some sort of a return -- even if it was just some poxy, piddling, sub-percy little wind-up of an amount.

That's a rather different set of circumstances from club bouncers just catching yet another punter in the bogs.
