Caturday!

You should just be firm like my mammy would after she cleaned.

''Don't walk on my good floor''

''I've just emptied that bin so don't put anything in it''

%)

Nope. Perfectly healthy. Never had fleas, never had worms, never had any inoculations (even though vets would like you to think they are vital). She's just developed a liking for pissing on my new floor :-(

Easiest option is to get rid of the cat.

True, but our Jess hasn't got to the ripe old age of 18 by being neglected y'know. I just don't agree with antibiotic injections simply because the vet hasn't got a clue....

Apologies, I did not mean to be offensive.

It's really hard to get a decent vet - we've got ours through referral. Yes, some of the young ones are clueless. The last told us that a cat can get stressed if you move a chair! Stupid cow...

I hope she picks up and it isn't something more worrying, especially if she's an old girl <3

We're taking Joe to the vets tomorrow. The last time it was £57.84 and that included another powder, injection and the consultation was about £24ish. I love my old boy too much, Id rather give up something to make sure he is well and happy. The meds we got the last time lasted over and hence we've been able to treat today to tide him over. Wee soul is on our bed, padding and sucking at a fluffy blanket end. Looks a bit more comfortable.

I don't mean to go on but you have responsibilities if you take an animal on.

For some odd reason, the vet of my dog seems to come up with a compiled vaccine every year and they are very expensive.
I don't know if he needs that many precautions like pneumonia together with flue, etc, etc

We're the same with both boys - they get all their vaccinations etc, its very pricey. However, we can't leave them in a cattery without their vaccination passport (or bring them to Europe if we wanted). We can't always rely on other people to look after them when we're go off on our travels. A night or 2 is ok but not 10 days plus. Our cattery has webcam too - that's fab!

peppermint and vinegar I find are the best things to deter cats peeing, but vets I think we may have the best vet as he charges 15 for visit/check up and we just had to get my murphy cat put down :( and it cost 30 am down to 3 cats now and miss him he loved a blow back and did not complain at being spray painted.

Our Joe has a vet appointment later today, and it's probably going to cost in the region of £50-60. Ouch. But it needs to be done.

With you on the decent vet bit. Had so many bad experiences with one down the road at my parents' place that I ended up going fucking mental at them which is ridiculously unusual for me (inconsiderate, cold, bastards. Last straw was making my mate cry and trying to guilt him into staying there). Found a good one finally for your basic pets but had a ballache finding a good reptile vet.

Really am wanting a cat but I don't think it'd be feasible at the moment so have been contenting myself with the herd of cats my mates have. It really is incredible, they have five and I say herd because they act like tiny little sheep when someone gives them commands, never seen owt like it.

Yeah I want a cat too but it's not feasible for me either since I don't really have my own source of income currently... just have to make as much a fuss of my parents cats as possible! I am really considering it soon though as I'll be moving into a 1 bedroom flat by myself, which I think is big enough for a cat to run around in. Just need to get me a job and then I can afford to get one.

Sorry that you folks have had trouble with vets in the past. I guess it's like everything, luck of the draw. We are fortunate enough to have a great vet just 1 minute away from my parents house, so we've never had any issues.

Yeah they were amazing. I think they had different singers to the past as last time I saw them I was blown away during The Great Gig in the Sky whilst this time they alternated singers during it. Still, it was a great night for sure. Being the 30th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, they played that album right through at the start... really great album it is.

Liking that Lurching, you naughty boy :D

That's Joe back from the vets - no one got scratched or bitten and for an 8kg mega-kitty he can take a right bad mood out on an unsuspecting vet 8)

We should see him pick up in the next day or so with the treatment over with in a week. He's happily sleeping on his favourite chair now.

The total damage was - £64.85
This was for £25.43 consultation, Metacam oral 15ml £24.26 and 20x Cystophan at £15.16.

Worth every penny, if he's going to be ok.

Edit: Joe post vet
