Catherine Hettinger is an American engineer. She is the inventor of a predecessor to the fidget spinner. Hettinger originally invented a spinning gadget that rests on one finger as a toy for her daughter in the early 1990s, and began to sell it at local arts and crafts fairs in Florida.
Originally called the tippy toppy 1 finger flying floppy doppy

Honestly I could barely give less of a shit. Every invention is based on existing work. The idea of the lone great inventor is largely bullshit myth anyway.
 
Yes I agree probably everything been invented already and we just don?t know about it yet, but who really gives a dam about somebody?s fun dumb top game anyway
