wow. iread ashke's raver types post and it almost made me cry. it was so kewl. it also made me realize how much of a total and complete candy raver i am. i have been pissed off for a week cuz i cant buy buckets of beads at walmart anymore. i take beads to house parties and make people necklaces and bracelets on the spot. if i find out someone is rolling, the first thing i do is offer them a vicks mask. i am so concerned about everyone else having a fun good time. I love giving messages, especilly to those on G. im a fucking tigger freak!!!! it is so freakin weird. i ove kandy aravers. they made me fall in love with the scene. someone i had never met before came up to me and gave me a necklace (which i were to every rave and most house parties i go to). i got hugs from EVERYONE!!! it was amazing. thats when i new that that was so me. aack. ok, im babbleing now. sorry...

as a matter of fact, as I mentioned in the other thread, a cute little candy raver came up to me at NY, and gave me her fave bracelt (which I am wearng right now... and have not taken it off since NY) I realy appreciated it. It made my night a whole lot brighter. (not that it wasn't bright already) I totaly htink that the candy ravers make a whole LOT of the PLUR that flows around. hehe
power to the candy ravers!!! (did *I* just say that!? hehehe)
I love all of you real ravers, candy, or otherwise... so keep up the PLUR, and HAVE FUN!

And tho I don't think anyone falls into a definite concrete 'catagory', I would say that if I had to choose, I would say I am a candyraver too.

I am so NOT name-dropping Ashke to you, Spence! She just rulez and I talk about her all the time, so get used to it
smile.gif
. ('Sides, I need people to know that I have a cool friend so they like me
smile.gif
. *snicker*)
But, yes, I'm offended you even SAID 'if,' Ashke
smile.gif
. You ARE coming here, and not just for a visit if *I* have any say in the matter
smile.gif
. Sorry Pragmatic and all the other Ohio crew, but, well, we're gonna steal her. That's just how it goes.
Anyhow, I suppose I should comment on the thread's actual SUBJECT considering no one else seems to have
smile.gif
.
Sorry to say, but Spence, Ashke, you are two of the kandiest of candyravers I've ever seen
smile.gif
. I dunno how it took you so long to come to this conclusion, Spence
smile.gif
. I always feel kinda guilty 'round you two cuz I'm just bein' a nutbar or whatever with my bad self while yer out there spreadin' joy and cheer and candy-vibes and bracelets and blowin' people up and huggin' people and and and... And all that good stuff
smile.gif
. And here I am, just absorbin' the luv like the greedy bastard I am
biggrin.gif
.
Serious, candy-kids are the ones who really drove home the point of PLUR to me. It's like they're living embodiments of the concept, these PLUR whirlwinds that just whiz past and leave you dizzy with luv 'n good vibes. If I ever get a serious head injury and lose sight of the concept, all I would need to do is think back to the slinky-puppy (or, hey, talk to Ashke for about, oh, two seconds) and it'd be right back there again, warm fuzzies and all.
So, yeah, there you have it. Luv to all the true candy-kids out there. Spread that luv! Subvert the dominant paradigm! Viva PLUR! Or something!

YEA! Candyravers are... EVERYONE'S friend! They really are the reason raving appeals to me so much. Before I went to my first rave last summer (Electric Daisy Carnival) I never understood the candy element, it was just like, what's with those big gaudy bead necklaces? But once there it clicked and made sense like nothing has since, except the music. Joy! Color! Frendliness! Hugs! Childlike simplicity and FUN! That's what I love about raving! Thanks to all those wonderful candykids, whether we've met or not! Incidentally, Ashke, I also really appreciate all the personality and love you contribute to this board.
Speaking of love, did anyone here go to Heaven in LA over New Years? That was beautiful.

candy ravers rule. i love bieng a candy raver, i love giving people candy and bracelets. love bieng able to look at my arms and see all these bracelets that bring back so many memories, some from people i may never see again, some from people who ended up becoming good friends, each bracelet brings back the awesome memories of one point and time that i will never forget

I'm quite happy with my my candy raver-dom (is that proper english?
wink.gif
) ever since my first rave, my ultimate goal at parties has been to make other people happy in any way I can.. be it talkin to the person in the back who's havin a bad experience, or gettin the people who've never been to a rave and never rolled before to get up and get into the groove =)
now, to loupy, I think you've inspired me to make a new shirt.. "Viva le PLUR!"

its soOOo great (and Im sure the other kandie children of the world must agree) to see how everyone on this board actually, not only respects, but *like* the candy ravers contributions to the scene.

At the past couple of parties I have been to, I have *of course* had a madd chill time with all of the beautiful people that I have met there, but have also had a few hurt feelings on the path. There will always be some anger I believe, from *some* others towards candy kids. That really sucks
frown.gif
but all i know is I get a hella lot more compliments at a party than i do insults...all i wanna do is make people happy! I rave sober sometimes and just bring all my toys to let kids play with and show them fun tricks.
Its amazing how kandies can have bracelets up to their elbows and someone can ask "where did you get THIS one?" and we will remember EXACTLY what party we got it at, (well most of the time, hehe)
...and why is it ok if we lose one of our FAVORITE toys, but if a bracelet breaks, well, that is the most devestating thing in the world? lol
smile.gif

but always keep the groove in you, whether you're kandy or not and always SPREAD THE MUTHAF*&%IN LOVE!!!!

I am so envious of all of you who get to experience the love of candy ravers. Where I live they have raves every Saturday night at this one bar. They aren't even real raves, but their the closest thing we will probably ever get. It's more like being at the bar with different music. Most of the people are drunk and I don't see any of this wonderful stuff you people describe. I've done E many times, but everytime I hear all your stories I realize that I haven't really experienced the whole thing. There was a girl there one night with a soother in her mouth and everyone made fun of her for it. The closest we come to "ravers" are the old schoolers who spend every waking minute of their time on E and who just give off nasty vibes - like they're better than everyone else. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is just that all of you who have ever been given a bracelet, candy, a hug, or even just a smile(from someone other than a drunk guy - or girl, who is just trying to get laid) should feel very lucky and thankful for the wonderful things they receive.
Candy ravers - keep the love flowing and don't ever stop doing what you do. Hopefully sometime soon I'll get the hell out of this city and really rave it up!!

Ok guys....
I'm gonna try not to reinstate the obvious about how wonderful and happy candyravers are.
I've just recently began to wear candy and I totally notice the welcomed vibe I get. When I first started going to raves I kinda kept to myself, until one special girl gave me my first bracelette....then I understood!
smile.gif

I was offended today by someone bashing candyravers on my mailing list. It hurt my feelings, and I admit, I did flame back.
frown.gif
BUT, I apologized for my outburst. I don't understand what's not to like about candykids? I hear people complain about them, but they are the NICEST people at the parties! I'd rather dance in a pool of candykidz than walk around like I'm a hardcore badass muthafucka from da ol' skool. hehehehe LOL
Just trying to make light of the subject....love all you candykidz out there, even if I've never met you.
BIG CANDY HUG!!
Adrienne

here's the thing though...
i look forward to coming in contact with the candy kids so much...but my last two raves... they were nowhere to be found =(
i miss them so much...i remember a bunch of parties that would have just sucked if some beautiful candy kid hadn't saved my night with a bracelet or some vicks
i have a habit of recycling my bracelets though... i get a bracelet from someone... then later that night or the next party... i end up hanging around someone and give them one of my bracelets...what sucks is that as of right now i'm out of bracelets! =( except for the one a fellow bluelighter MADE for me...i will never part with that one

I LUV THIS THREAD!!!
I was just informed this weekend that there is absolutely no chance of me ever hiding the fact that I am a full-blown candy raver... I hadn't really thought about it all that much until I was at PVD and this new friend Dawn screams at me from about 15 feet away "YOU ARE SUCH A KANDYKID!!!" and then runs over and gives me a kiss on the cheek! It was so sweet! And I met this other girl Sunflower at the party, and told her about this board, so she's going to regester today!!! But she said it was hopeless too... Hee hee!!!
