Canada - Biggest pill press ever seized in Quebec

Original article in French, I translated it:

The battle against synthetic drugs, which are mostly taken by youth, is intensifying. Yesterday, police busted four networks affiliated with the Hells Angels across the province.

Project Macaque, which began in January 2013, was completed yesterday, as officers from the Quebec provincial police and 16 other police agencies carried out fifty raids in the Montreal region and in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

The targeted networks were involved in marijuana and cocaine trafficking, but they primarily trafficked synthetic drugs like methamphetamine and ecstasy.

More seizures

Methamphetamine seizures are increasing in Quebec, confirms inspector Patrick Bélanger of the Quebec provincial police, and this is mostly due to the "Strategy for Battling Synthetic Drugs."

"It's a kind of drug taken primarily by youth due to its low cost and its banal appearance in pill form. It is very widespread."

The police also seized, in a Terrebone warehouse, an imposing machine weighing over 2,000 pounds which was used to produce pills. This industrial machine, a "pill press," is the largest ever seen by the Quebec provincial police, and can produce over 80,000 pills per hour.

The operation was carried out in thirty cities. The heads of the networks were situated in Terrebone, Jonquière, Saint-Eustache, Rawdon, and Laval.

"It was an enormous structure, but they were working with outlaw motorcycle clubs: the Hells Angels and the Red Devils," added Bélanger.

Increase in violence

In Saguenay, the battle to control territory has caused a significant proliferation in violence in the past few months. The Quebec provincial police have noted several incidents of arson, kidnapping, confinement, threats, and extortion.

The investigation is ongoing, and more raids should be carried out this evening. By mid-afternoon, yesterday, 69 people had been arrested.

The seizure in numbers

Here's what the police had nabbed by yesterday afternoon. The numbers will continue to climb, as raids were still ongoing this evening.

- 170,000 methamphetamine pills
- 20 kg of methamphetamine powder
- 20,000 cannabis plants
- 14 vehicles
- several kilos of cocaine
- twenty guns
- 300 lbs of marijuana
- $300,000 cash

90k pills am hour and yet they seized no MDMA....that doest make me too sad that these speed bomb makers are out of biz.

When I look at the pill press all i can wonder is like "who made this pill press?" Are there legit reasons to have a machine like this or do you think its made strictly for the "illegal drug market"?

Most likely decommissioned pharmaceutical industry tech which was sold (perhaps by private auction) in working order to recover a part of its initial cost.

Since it was allegedly used in the clandestine manufacture of meth bombs, it's not surprising that it looks poorly maintained.

Edit - Upon closer inspection, it looks like there are parts on there which are nearly brand new. This may mean that the whole thing was bought in non-working order, and then was fitted with the appropriate replacement parts in order to get it working again. Still cheaper than buying the whole thing new if there's only a couple of parts that need to be replaced.

To the guy saying no MDMA...no surprise, the people who sell, LSD MDMA/2C-B and even PCP (I think bikers just abandoned this venture, its still around though) are not in these circles, a low level speed pill dealer will sometimes have those, its easy to tell here. If it's not white, you have good chances of having a nice MDMA trip. The precursors for MDMA are way way more difficult to obtain in Canada since around 2006, when ecstasy started to get more rare too. So many idiots love their meth pills anyway here, when I tell them if they're gonna do meth, at least get some crystal, I get blank stares or "I'm not going to talk to a fucking faggot in the gay village to get some, where I'll have to suck his cock to even have the right to buy it."

I'm not sure how true this is, but its kept me from ever trying crystal too, lol. I had a lot of fun with legit meth pills before that smelled so strong and the pills were all still wet, very fresh meth even in pill form, lol. But no more, after some incident regarding a shithead who brought me the wrong kind of speeds one time and i'm pretty sure I almost died right there with zero euphoria, just being awaken and then the 4-5 heartbeats that were so strong and seemed like they were gonna fail (guess why it's why my heart pumped so hard in my chest). Anyway those massive thumps which made me almost call 911 made it so it was over. Tried to get the pills exchanged/money back and the idiot was like "its normal to have your heart beat faster on speed......" not like I complained of that...feelsgoodman to be out of that scene.

Kind of ridicules the argument about gun control certain americans have (only criminals will have guns!) . People in this quite large organization had 20 guns, twenty. TWENTY. In most if not all American gangs, even the lowest of the low in the chain of command has a pistol.

Gangs here, even now the used-to-be all powerful Hell's Angels keep it on the DL, they don't have much choice, wearing gang "colours" (their leather jackets with ensigns on them, some saying how many people they killed, back to the year 2000 and way before, is illegal since those "Gangsterism" laws came into play in the late 90's, meaning that if you have a criminal enterprise, you better keep it at 2 people minimum (kind of hard, but not impossible if there is almost complete severance between provider of X materiel to the 2 persons, but a lot of people go to prison for longer than they should because the cops decided your group of friends constituted a gang because you all had weed in quantities over 1oz when caught.

I don't even hate them though, now. I hated them when the provincial cops started to clamp down on them in 2001 when they started to hurt and threaten and cause damage of all sorts to people dealing weed not from their network. Now they have abandoned weed for the most part since everyone and his grandma grows weed here, the province where an oz of high quality bud is the cheapest in all of north america. Yes, even cheaper than in BC...it's not hard to have things cheaper than in BC, Vancouver being the 2nd city in the world with the most expensive cost of living.

I couldnt see the video, but if it's the same one as in the pic I have used one similar to that at one of the pharma companies I worked at when I was younger.
 
Same here, when I've done a 3 months internship at PMS, when the future still looked bright for me (before my body started falling apart at a way too young age heh).

No, they weren't. Maybe in the U.S. people are selling these as MDMA, but here in Canada everyone knows that these pills are "speed," and these guys were pressing them with legitimate methamphetamine. A bunk "speed pill" would be one that contains MDPV or some other designer drug (and unfortunately these are pretty common).
 
Were these those ice pills that were all over silk road? Those were probably from a Canadian source cause I only saw Canadian vendors selling them

The rectangular "ICE" pills are a very common press, and definitely made in Quebec.
 
I can attest to that, last time I really had awesome fun with meth was with those, they have a tiny pinch of mdxx in them because they make one horny as hell too hehe, didn't see them since 2012 though, because the chick who sold me 5 of em while bringing me to the beach only to leave with another guy and me in a cab with another girl and yeah that's another story. She was my actual MDMA contact too, ugh! But women, y'know :\
There's this other guy I know who had a constant stock of different kinds of white speed presses, and they were all good until the dreaded Molson Dry beer cap shaped ones I got from him, 15, and after testing with just half of one I almost died, had ventricular fibrillation or something going on, thankfully it stopped when I picked the phone, but I thought my heart was gonna come outta my chest, out of nowhere, those pills were poison, I don't know what was in it, but when you get ripped off scoring meth pills, it's time to quit that scene. I guess they had something like PMMA in it, from what I read it is euphoric (they were not), takes a long time to kick in (about 1h30) only to feel very awake but dysphoric. They're double scored in the back, hinting at you should just take a quarter, pretending they were something awesome like the old school OnStar white speeds that pretty much started it all (the trend) here, snorting a quarter of that thing and you'd find looking at walls fascinating (so imagine the rest).

But those days are gone, I slipped into the opiate game due to actual pain that was treated lousily by most docs after the one jaw specialist that did a good job retired. I was just on CodeineContins 150mg + a Supeudol/Oxy IR 10mg prn (usually just 1 or none a day, depended on the C-Contins and how tense my jaw would get (and all that meth snortin' and eatin' back in the mid 2000's sure did not help the area heh).
