A grieving mother's letter to Doug Ford

Sandi Tantardini admires and respects Doug Ford.

That was made clear in the letter she wrote to the Progressive Conservative leader and handed to Christine Elliott to personally deliver.

"More than anything else in the world, I want to vote for you. But I am afraid."

Tantardini lost her 28-year-old son Scott to an overdose of fentanyl. That was 20 months ago.

Since then, sad but wiser, Tantardini has advocated for safe injection sites. She co-founded a support group called NAMES - Niagara Area Moms Ending Stigma. "Unfortunately, we have 130 members with more being added all the time. I hate adding people. Because I understand all too well what that means."

For those who aren't Canadian, Doug Ford is the brother of the the late, infamous Rob Ford. He is currently the clear front-runner in the race to become Ontario's next premier (the equivalent of an American state governor) in the provincial election that will take place a month from now.

What an idiot.

She isn't just pandering to the conservative party but to one of the worst names in politics -- the Ford family.

If you want sane drug policy the last people you should be voting into office are the cons. They've made it abundantly clear that their plan is to support and reinforce the crime/punishment model.

Not to pull a godwin but it would be like a Jew writing to Hitler to say, "I really want to vote for you but I'm afraid of what you made do to Jews. Can I get some reassurance?"

Don't be a mouse putting yourself in the cat's mouth. Moron.

^When you put it like that Foreigner it just seems really sad. I feel really bad for her and others like her but i guess some people only learn from direct experience.
