Or is that just a part of dreaming?

I had the weirdest dream that I was being mind controlled by a device and it got pretty dramatic. I woke up worried that I was having psychotic symptoms.

I have dreams about having psychotic episodes sometimes. They're fucking terrifying and I'm always really disoriented and upset when I wake up.

Yeah, I was worried about it all day. I kept thinking that this dream could have been real life. I think were being too hard on ourselves though. The anxiety of potential relapse that doctors almost guarantee for people that have paychosis is causing it for many of us. And I think what got me worried in part was the thought of it becoming a self-fullfilling prophecy. But evidence shows that relapse doesn't have to be the case on meds or off.

I have only ever dreamt about being delusional once & as SixBuckets says, it is pretty awful. Just as distressing as the real thing, albeit briefly.

In the end of the day they are just dreams though.

Perhaps it a sign deep down that you are worried about that sort of thing, certainly the more disturbing dreams I get on occasion tend to revolve around anxieties. Or maybe you are even trying to make sense of it if it's something you thought in the past.

Who knows exactly what functions dreams serve though.

I woke up last night and heard someone say something that kind of sound like my name... weird.

But, delusions in dreams? All the time. I often have dreams where I have false memories of something that happened "previously" but never actually happened in the course of the dream.
Look up hypnagogic hallucinations, it's very interesting.
Wait, so... the crazy visions I have when I close my eyes, before bed, are hypnagogic hallucinations?
