Ok so I'm scripted 4mg xanax/day but I have a script here for Diazepam too. (I'm not supposed to be taking the Diazepam, I was on it for a few months and got switched back to xanax, but I still have a prescription for a months supply). I live in Ireland, they are quite strict on benzos etc over here..If I got this diazepam script filled out would my doc be alerted in any way, or could he check online? or would he have to go and search himself? Does my prescription history come up on a docs CPU like any system?

Basically I have a prescription for a months supply of valium, I wouldn't mind getting it filled out to "stockpile" so to speak. But if I brought it into a random pharmacy would it come up on their system that I'd had a script for a months xanax filled a week ago in another pharmacy. Would it come up on my docs screen/are they monitored or would he have to search. Bear in mind this isn't a forged prescription, basically I'd been RX'd valium 2 months supply, I picked up 1st months but was switched to xanax before the 2nd months. Is there anyway to be "caught"

I'm in the US and here doctors can see if you haven't filled a prescription. I actually got flat out asked once upon a time as to why I didn't fill an antibiotic script.

depends, you'll have to dig a bit but this was my impression. If they give you a piece of paper with a script on it likely they won't find out what you do with it. I've noticed lots of doctors will ask you what pharmacy you go to and then input into the computer system. In the computerized system I believe they can check. So if you don't want your doctor knowing get a paper script and don't tell your doctor what pharmacy you are going to. Or you could just work with your doctor to achieve your goals which would be my unsolicited advice.

i am in the us and yes my doc can see how often i refill my xanax script
that is the only reason why shes ok giving me xanax because a refill of 90x .5mg will last me about 2 to 4 months sometimes longer
just depends some docs check some dont
and yes many docs now will no longer give you a paper script they ask you what pharmacy to send a computerized script to

Im in the US and get paper scripts and my doctor can see what i do with it and where, IF she checks. I dont believe she is alerted of it since iv gone months without filling some and then sometimes ill fill one here and there and she hasnt said anything to me about it when i ask for more...I like to stock pile lol But iv seen her get on her computer to check with my suboxone before while i was there because she lost my info of how much i last got during my taper, and found out via pharmacy, without me ever telling her what pharmacy i use.

I'm in the US and where I come from, Ohio, anything that is a class 2-4 can not be called in. if there is any potential for abuse then you have to have a paper script to physically carry into the pharmacy. I don't think they can put any refills on the bottle either. Xanax is a CSA Schedule 4 drug. there is a small chance of abuse, and it is a benzo. Benzo's and narcotics have to be written in to get a script and the doc should see you in person at least once a month for most narcotics and most Benzo's, however my doc rx's me Ritalin, 60 a month and they cant call them in but she does write me 5-6 at a time and I can drop them all off at the pharm and they automatically get filled every 24-26 days, that is the amount of time needed between scripts for my ins to pay for it, or I can just hold onto the script and hand them in every month. my doc used to see me once a month but now it is once every 3 months, but I still get up to 6 scripts written for my refills at my apt. Most psychiatric meds can not have refills on the bottle because of possible dossing changes. my boyfriend takes oxcarbazapine and Seroquel and he can not have refills on those, but they can call them in from the docs office. he still goes every month to the physc doc and he gets them called in at his apt.

Most likely there is a database for monitoring controlled substances. In california its called CURES and you can pull a report for a patient and shows every script (date, str, directions, #s) from every doctor and what pharmacy it was filled. In an office i used to work, it was often used for benzos and opioids. There were a few patients who had alprazolam and diazepam and the pharmacist would always call to check.

Any pharmacist worth their salt will most likely call or fax the prescribing MDs on both sides. The only way I could see it happening, MAYBE, is if you went to fill the diazepam after the alprazolam was up (going by dose frequency). Then to fill the alprazolam, you would have to wait until the diazepam Rx was theoretically up. However this may defeat your "stockpile" idea, unless you can go w/o benzos while you wait for the diazepam Rx to theoretically run out

Careful!
