Can anyone interpret gc/ms results??

...You can get a heap of scrap for thousand bucks. I bet the diff pump does not work, capacitors are shot, rods are probably covered in pump oil, and no doubt every ceramic in the rod assembly and ion source has been cracked from mismoving that old dog.

Oh, and there's no data aquisition system and no GC...

The libraries of mass spectra are available free if you know where to look, the data will be in the format for HP chemstation or similar, but any reasonably competent coder would be able to convert the data to whatever program is being used.
Thus I stand officially corrected.

Caveat emptor! :)

It would be good if GC/MS could be performed on some of the legal highs floating around, I would imagine some of the key ingredients would be easily detected (unlike herbs which are far more complicated).

Although I guess its catch 22, as soon as they are known they are banned.

Is just a shame because legal highs are becoming more and more like illegal highs, I.e unknowns. Ok so originally they only used to contain ephedrine etc but at least the benefit was you knew what you were taking. Some legal highs these days are just as vague as illegal pills thus kind of defeating the point. [Certainly from a harm minimisation point of view, which most are sold as]

Oh dear this post has turned in to a rant, appologies back to SPICE GC/MS.
