bus trip to the rave act protest-09/06/02 Springfield, MA ->Washington, DC

i know what scaryraver is wearing so ill look for you doode. i dont know waht everybody else looks like but i hope to find yall

Candygrl...you'd better come to buzz ;) We need to party like starscape!

:\ i didn't meet anyone at buzz. me and my NE Jungle crew took over the dance floor in the room with out the disco ball (not sure if you call it the main room) it was nice to come back to nation it had ben awhile. Smoke from Ravers only was chillin' with my mass crew wich was cool cause it was like we had our own personal photographer. i didn't have an ID cause it had ben stolen but i borrowed someones and got in and got a drinking wirstband. chilled up stiars for part of the night where these three chicks bought me like 5 drinks (god i love nation ;) ) the e-tards kinda annoyed me and the fact that breakers kept trying to break in our jungle circle was irritating to specialy when there was a circle of breakers already. over all i felt the protest didn't go as well as i had hoped, between the fact that i and some in my crew got asked if we had any pills and the fact that it seemed as though a majority of the people (at least at the DC protest) where just there to either party or because there were "ravers" there so they would go just cause. not many people seemed to be there for a cause other then to party where as my crew came to show suport. i also was discusted by the moonshine flyer for they're movie coming out wich in big letters said "Sex, Drugs, Rave and Roll" wich is just the tottal oppisite of what the whole fucking night was suposed to be about. i was also livid by the fact that inside buzz i saw 2 people in those "end the drug war" shirts carrying they're friend around the club (on on each sholder) because the kid was so fucked up he couldn't walk. not to mention the girl that go carried out of the club by her friends that was trying to take her clothes off with her friends were carrying her out. of all nights that these assholes had to get way to fucked up it had to be after a protest that we had to try and stop superstisions and accusations about raves and you go and pull this shit... stuff like that makes me jaded, i wanted to beat the fuck out of those people, they're just lucky that i was there as a representative of N-E and that i was there to suport the scene there for i didn't stick my shoe in they're teeth. well i'm grumpy after 8 hours of driving and riding so i'm going to shower and sleep... later

wow...that sounds shitty. I was hoping the rally in DC would've been our culture coming out to show how strong we are, instead, it sounds like we ended up looking like their drug brochures.
how were the speakers? were there lotsa people in suits at the protest? any pictures?

I was looking for you around the place, but not sure if you made it down. What sucks is that my celly just changed and I didn't get a chance to give you the new number. Easily fixable though, and anyway next time I'll just drive up and pick you up and serve as your driver, and that way I'll know for sure you're there, lol. ;)
Jon, it was cool seeing you at the protest, but what the fuck happened to you at the club. Me, Web, 5HT-2, Insatiable, THE WOOD and others all looked for you throughout the night and I swear to god you were not in the club...I bet you were chilling behind the stage or some shit. Anyway, I'm gonna prolly see you online and hopefully you were OK and nothing shady happened.
In general, I finally understand why buzz is a cool place, and I guess I'll be going there more often. Yeah, atmosphere is good there. We stayed the whole night, right until 6:10am when it was over. For the protest though, we only made it to the end of it...still got to sign up for some things and experience the strange marriage of a democtratic process/discourse and what could possibly be called the most apathetic group of voters - ravers! I think the point was made though, and when issues of importance come up, we do - or at least try to do - anything we can to improve our situation and help the scene. I was happy to learn this.
And yeah, I met plenty of people, but mainly people I knew from before. Generally, eventhough I'd like to believe otherwise, it is hard to meet/find/get-to-know people at the party, especially at the party where people may be in another world, lol. If such meet-ups are desired, a lot more planning must go into it, and a lot of luck too...otherwise, just running into someone is the best we can hope for, and perhaps for many, that's all that they need.
I pretty much met everyone I was looking to meet (assuming Candygrl didn't make it down, of course). As I expected it was impossible to find Schmacky, being that this was a protest night and all. We looked for people from upper NE, but I'm sure the music took them so far away that simple mortal BLers could not compete. ;) It was increadibly good to see Web and his bro Steve, THE WOOD and Jay (I'll be coming up to see u guys more often in future since I now know the way), and SgtD82. Of course, I drove Insatiable and 5HT-2, so I got to see plenty of them. LC couldn't make it down, and that sucked cuz I was really looking forward to hanging out with the burg people for real...I actually was pretty much sober for the party and had a blast, dancing a lot and all that. Basically, it was a blast. There are a lot of fond memories from this weekend...but I won't share them too much, cuz they're mine, make your own. ;)
peace out

I don't think I've seen a pic of you without the \x/eastside/westside\x/ going on.

yeah i thought the protest was kinda weak. it was cool to hear the speakers so im glad i made it there in time for them. I figured more people would have come out, but then again it was on a friday afternoon when lots had to work, but its whatever i guess. I met scaryraver so that was tight, but i didnt see you at nation bro....i was on the patio most of the night so thats probably why though.

ScaryRaver, you win the title of "Hypocrite of the Month".
You go on bitching about how people at Buzz are all fucked up when they should be making a good impression or whatever. And then in the pictures you posted above, you're all fucked up yourself.
I agree that if you're going to bother to attend the protest then you should have the decency to refrain from getting fucked up at the protest, and that handing out flyers that go against the entire theme of the protest is in poor taste. However, the party at Buzz was NOT part of the protest. Yes, a lot of the people from the protest attended, and yes, the theme may have carried over but the party at Buzz is just that...a party. Not everyone who attended Buzz was at the protest or necessarily even agreed with the protest. The protest and the party were two distinct events and I feel they are no more connected than the bus ride down to the protest is connected to the protest itself.
Getting fucked before the protest or getting fucked up after the protest...what's the difference? To me it just sounds like you're being hypocritical. Typical American, it's ok when you do something but not when everyone else does.
Alright, I'm done with my ranting. Don't take it personal. I call 'em as I see 'em.
BTW, all said above is not to imply that I condone acting like an ass getting fucked up at a club nor is it to say I feel people need be sober.....it's all in moderation.

i think u dont realize what the bill is about
its not about trying to 'stop superstitions and accusations'
its about the promoters not going to jail because someone else ingests drugs
ya dig?

you just opend an big ol can of worms motha-fucka.
firt off you must have a big ol' empty skull to have ben such a moron to post that. as for me being all fucked up. i had a few drinks, alchohol, a beverage server legaly at the club, not an illeagle drug. nore was i carried out of the club or did i try to take my clothes off while getting carried out of the club. and if you had any idea about what is going on in the world or at least at buzz, there were local TV crews at and out side buzz the night of the protest. not to mention there were more undercovers and uniformed cops in the club then normal because of the simple fact that there was a protest. and yes buzz that night and the protest were directly related, i work for truecrew and we set up the protest with the people from Buzz so that after the protest people could come to nation and have a fun time. WHY DO YOU THINK THE PROTEST ENDED RIGHT WHEN BUZZ OPEND?! so why don't you zip that big mouth of yours shut and fill your head with some knowledge instead of pills and maybe next time you wana open your mouth you'll think twice.
Thank you drive through.

hun i know what the rave act is. but when the media keeps up these superstions of raves as being drug dens where girls are raped on extacy people, mainly voters, back governmet officials that want to pass bills like the rave act. we had an opertunity to look good for the media and be sober and level headed make a point that we are there to dance and enjoy music not to have extacy driven orgies.
to quote some of the speakers:
"How are promoters suposed to keep all drugs out of raves when prisons with barbed wire fences, gaurds, dogs, and huge walls and gates can't even keep drugs out?"
"When are schools going to be held responsible for having drugs in them? if someone gets cought with drugs in school, a place where childern should be able to learn in a drug free enviorment, the principal or dean should be held responsible according to the rave act."
and my favorite...
"Politisions are saying "we need to do this to protect the childern" when all they're doing is taking the childerens civil liberty's away."

Alright I did not attend the protest. I do however support the cause, and agree with ScaryRaver on putting aside any substances you may enjoy for this one night. It would show that although we enjoy our illegal substances, that we enjoy the parties and clubs for the music first. But seeing how this guy(ScaryRaver) always talks mad shit to people. Here is my word of advise "BEFORE YOU GO AROUND TELLING PEOPLE THEY SHOULD EDUCATE THEMSELVES LEARN HOW TO FUCKING SPELL KID SO YOU DON"T LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT YOURSELF."

chill out would you, whats speelling gooata do with anything

I would not normally attack someone for spelling but when you try to tell people they are stupid, then at least do it right. I mean yeah we all abbreviate shit on the net and maybe we don't use spell check but this kid always attacks people on here, so this is my attack. I totally agree with his point though. Anyway we should atleast try to spell word correctly unless you want to be laballed as ignorant and stupid, it is taking some pride in what you write to present it in proper form. If you can't take the time to spell things right why should people take the time to read what you have to say.
