So this is just a little question. If I take Bupropion (Wellbutrin) during an opioid withdrawal will it worsten the symptoms it or will it help me pass through it or simply do nothing.

it would be both bad and good imo...ive taken welbutrin(not during withdrawals though) and it definitely increased my motivation and energy to an extent which would be an obvious plus to someone going through the lethargy of opiate withdrawals..on the flipside though, welbutrin tends to make people more anxious, i know it did me so this would make withdrawal worse in that area..i guess u would have to take it and see how it affects you..i remember a poster on here saying it helped him greatly when going through withdrawals..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Wellbutrin can take a number of days to build in your system and take effect, meaning you would have to preemptively start taking it in order for it to be of any benefit. If it works for you (and antidepressants have variable effects from person to person), it might be useful in enhancing your mood, especially during PAWS, but I doubt it would really do much for your acute withdrawal symptoms. Wellbutrin is known to lower the seizure threshold, so it should not be taken for alcohol or benzo withdrawal. For opiate and especially methamphetamine withdrawal (especially in the later stages), however, it seems like it may be useful.

It starts working immediately it just takes a couple days to build up and work best.
