So... the last eight months I've had trouble 'getting in the mood', and the notion of following it through is out of the question. This wadn't a problem until I entered a relationship.
First I thought it was the SNRIs (Effexor) so I stopped taking them. But I fear it's the daily 2mg of bupe. It could still be the SNRIs, as I've heard they can permanently destroy your sex drive.
But, if we assume it ain't the Effexor, what do y'all do about sex while on bupe treatment? Is it within the range of likelyhood? Or must one forego sex while on bupe?
Weed, of course, solves all those problems, but with weekly urine test I wouldn't take the chance.

Are there other ways of bypassing the eunich-like symptoms of bupe?

How long have you been on bupe? The way you make it sound, you're on some sort of forced rehab from opiates. Typically with how they effect your sex drive, you should be horny as hell now that you're on bupe. But, if you've gotten past that stage, it could easily be the Effexor.

The first year I was on buprenorphine my sex drive was relatively unaffected but physical stimulation had less effect, I was less sensitive i guess you could say, without going into detail.

Opiates tend to do that. It actually worked out to my benefit you could say. But I hear as people grow older dope dick no longer means fucking for hours without coming, but instead means not being able to get your member to cooperate at all.

Too funny.

Not trying to minimize your problem because it's not limited to just men. Effexor is actually supposed to have less of an effect upon sexual function.

Any chance you could talk to the physician who prescribes the Suboxone and lower the dose?

Long-term treatment with opioids can cause a form of hypogonadism (low testosterone levels) known as "Opioid Induced Androgen Deficiency".

I have been taking Temgesic (2.4 mg / 24h) for several years, and last year I noticed a lack of libido, fatigue, as well as mood swings and depression. My pain management doc referred me to an endocrinologist, blood samples were taken and after a couple of months, I was eventually diagnosed with "acquired" hypogonadism and put on HRT (testosterone gel). It works really well, I would recommend you to have your hormone levels checked out.

Man, I know how you feel. I was dating a girl up until recently, and it was a huge problem with me too. It's not like I became A-sexual, I just didn't get in the mood quite as easily. Like if it was late at night and she was frisky, it was hard for me to get in the mood. It'd make me tired so fatigue probably had something to do with it too. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I hope it gets better

Opiates do that man.

I have a hard time getting it up on most opiates (If I've done oxy or H that day, it's out of the question), and even on Bupe, I'm not exactly 'a rock' and therefore can't really perform.

In reality, it just causes an extreme drop in libido- but the real killer is the decrease in sensitivity.

It's also odd, because it got worse for me - as if mentally I made the condition worse. Which is true, because having a negative outlook or 'thinking you're gonna have trouble performing' makes it 1000x more likely to not perform etc
