It's many years since I have built a PC, but the urge & the fact that I have a llittle disposable case has given me the urge to get my paws under the hood, so to speak.
To give an idea of when I last built anything, the Nvidia 6600GT was pretty high end back then.

So, the components I have in mind are...

AMD Phenom II 6x 1090 3.2GHz
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870 Black Edition 1GB GDDR5
Asus Crosshair IV Formula AMD 890FX (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 2 x 4 GB DDR3-2000 PC3-16000

2x WESTERN DIGITAL Caviar Black WD1502FAEX 3.5" Hard Drive - 1.5 TB - 7200 rpm - 64 MB - SATA-600 (RAID1)

SAMSUNG SyncMaster P2450H 24"

So, is there anything that stands out as a crap choice or something that I should swap out for something else?

I'd quite fancy one of them motherboards that doesn't go through BIOS, and an i7 processor to go with it.
