Last nite we had our first meeting to discuss the direction we are going to take regarding the Bluelight Stall. I would like to thank Kandeman, johnboy, Candyflip, Chemical Generation, Pink & Friend (sorry I'm shocking with names).
1. Project Aim and Objectives - Many scenarios were explored and discussed. It was felt that the best direction at this point in time is to keep it simple. We looked at setting up a stall that would provide various information in regards to drugs and harm minimisation. The stall would also have testers for sale. We also explored the testing side of things and decided that this would be put on hold for the time being until we are established and have our foot in the door. So the aim and objective that we all agreed upon was that the Bluelight Stall would provide information and resources that will empower peopple to make an informed choice regarding their drug consumption.
2. Having established the aim and objective of the stall we moved onto discussing how we were going to achieve it, therefore looking at the specific service we are going to provide. A Bluelight pamphlet was decided would be a good idea - providing a range of information all referenced for reliable sources. At this point we have decided that any information relating to any pre and post loading regime would be left out. As we all know - they are based on personal exprerience and cannot be backed up by any medical research. Therefore to protect our credibility it will be left out. We also looked into providing brochures form other organisations (such as the Australian Drug Foundation) in order to provide a full range of information and not looked biased in any way.
Pill testers & Testing - These are two very important components to the stall. Thanks to the kind support of Chemical Generation, testers will be provided to be sold at the stall. Our goal is to set up a testing station, where people can feel safe and secure to have their pills tested - The Peak and Chemical Generation will be further looking into this. It was decided that we first get our foot in door with a rave crew and slowly implement the testing component of the stall.
3. Costs - At this stage we feel that costs will be very minimal in setting up the stall - any costs will be dealt with in-house. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of testers will be kindly donated to Bluelight by Chemical Generation.
4. Ok - we have decided to aim for the next MUD party (being EPTAS Nov 4th). A letter of introduction is in the process of being drafted and will be sent to the guys at MUD - hopefully we can get some response and a meeting set up. Other rave crews will be targeted and we will not solely rely on MUD. This being the case we need to get our colective butts in gear. We need to delegate a workload and everyone's assistance would be much appreciated!!
Things to be done:
* Bluelight Pamphlet - we need to design a pamphlet - I urge everyone to come up with idea's for a pamphlet - content and design - then we can organise another meeting to decide what is finally printed.
* Bluelight cards - ie. business cards - design and content.
* Tables - where can we source tables for the stall
* Tent/Petition boards
Other's present at the meeting please add your comments regarding the meeting as I'm sure I've left alot out
I urge all Buleighters to get invloved in some way!!!
