I finally took the plunge & registered....although I?ve been to the sight & found helpful info many times. I?m 35, I have 2 beautiful little girls who are my world, I have a husband who drives me crazy but who I love whole heartedly, I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology, Ive spent years as a counselor for families & children, I believe I have a Savior & I choose to worship Him every week, I believe we are to LOVE ALL PEOPLE while we are on this earth, help a neighbor, hug a stranger, feed a hungry person, love one another no matter how different we may be. Kindness & compassion are very important to me...you can find me on play dates with my girls or coaching tee ball or in my daughters class being one of those annoying room moms with my Pinterest snacks ha? Life is so good sometimes. But other times there is a lot of darkness. Too much, & it?s very heavy. I am also, an addict. I became addicted to OxyContin as a wild teenager at age 18. I began methadone treatment for 8 years and finally detoxed in 2010. I stayed clean for 6 years until life became too overwhelming and some dental issues and kidney stones led me right back to the darkness I had almost forgotten. And here I am, after about 20 months of suboxone use, 30+ hours suboxone free. Im hoping to get some great Advice&/or encouraging words from some people that have known/know my struggle. This is hard. One things for sure, addiction does NOT discriminate!!
Much love to all! ❤️?

Hi Jesca01 - Welcome to Bluelight :)

Would be lying to say your intro didn't make me emotional. I have the utmost respect for people who chose to look at life through a similar lens as yours. That is, to love everyone. We need more people like you in this world, and if we lost you again to drugs I think a LOT of people would be very, very sad.

So thank you for taking this step in your maintenance and I hope you find what you're looking for and more.

I recommend stopping by Sober Living or even The Dark Side to start a recovery journal.

Please stay with us.

Welcome Jesca,

I share and apply the same approach to life as you do. I judge no one. I'm a chronic pain patient that gets judged pretty regularly, so I make sure I don't follow suit.

Like madness said, you should start a journal in the Dark Side or come hang with us over in sober living. You can do this and we are all here to cheer you on.

Hugs,
your friend,
Ash.

Madness,

I don't think we've ever spoken before, I hang out primarily in Sober Living, but sometimes the Dark Side.

I just had to tell you how much your messages mean to people. Every time I read one of your messages to other members I see what an awesome person you are.

You are very kind and helpful and you are definitely an asset to this community.

Just wanted you to know.

Hugs,
your friend,
Ash.

OP; I am a mom as well and it's a struggle at times getting time and prioritising your own health and happiness. You're a person and not just a mum. You will ne ok, dont worry about any judgemental bullshit here, theres heaps of us on bl.
