I imagine this wont elicit many responses, but I am curious as to whether or not there are any BL'ers out there that have been the subject of Intervention, True Life, a drug-based documentary, or any other type of TV show/film out there.

There's got to be atleast one! or maybe someone you knew was the subject?

I knew a lady whose sister was on Intervention. She was on the show also. It was a long time ago; like the first or second season. The women was a meth addict.

don't go incriminating yourself like that - leftwing

A friend of mine was on Intervention for cocaine and alcohol.

A couple years back someone posted on BL that MTV was looking for people to do a documentary based on drug addiction. I e-mailed them while I was in the middle of a binge of cocaine. The e-mail ended up being some 5 pages long, talking about my life going to college, selling weed, and having my IV heroin/cocaine addiction coexist. It was quite hilarious, and I still have a copy of what I sent them. They e-mailed me back their phone number and wanted me to call them and come in to interview. I didn't though...I didn't want my parents seeing me on TV for that shit haha.

Looking back, I should have done it though.

Supposedly, Rob the cough syrup addict was on here. His episode was pretty good since he was really fucked up. He was an annoying troll in the Lounge.

lol you should have. there has to be some compensation involved, yes? or is it just a paid vacation to rehab

Yeah, it probably would not be a good idea to throw yourself out there like that either. Well, i would not. Who knows what kind of records they keep on their data bases on people that do illicit things and stuff.

I imagine they must get paid. What drug addict wants to open up and let the world see them using toilet water and pooping in a bucket in their mom's basement? Plus, how do you agree to go on a documentary about drug addiction and not think "Hmmmm, maybe I'm gonna be on that thar intervention show so I better get ready for detox." I can't imagine any drug addict hasn't heard of intervention. Then again, they've been doing the show in BFE lately compared to the earlier ones.

The last time I was in rehab, one of the counselors there knew that one chick named Audrey who was on intervention. She was the chick who found out she was lesbian and was rejected by her family and started shooting tar and ended up homeless and strung out. It was an episode from I think the first or second season. The counselor at the program used to shoot dope and run around on the streets with Audrey and from what he told me he was suppose to be on intervention instead of her, but he ended up getting locked up, and she took his spot on the show. I didn't believe him at first until he took me into his office at the rehab and showed me pictures of him and her.

I love Intervention. I can't have a Monday evening without it.
I hope Jeff V. Vonderen comes back soon.

Same here! And personally, I think Jeff is the very best of the group. He just really knows how to handle the situations.

I loooove that show, I often sit on youtube and watch episode after episode, some of them are really shit though, like the people who dont believe they have a problem or people that barely even have a drug problem.

Anyway I dont know of anyone on here who has been on the show but I wouldnt put it past me, id be 90% sure someone from here has been on there.
Its a great show
My fav episodes are the one with the kid that has been shooting oxy for 4 years and pretty much any episode with people who are IV addicts. Its a great show ;)

Jeff Van Vonderen supposedly had a relapse (alcohol) and took some time off the show to get his life together. I didn't know he was an addict!

You can talk directly to Intervention stars/families on the A&E website. I recently bitched out the sisters of that girl Brooke from Oklahoma who was addicted to pain meds and had Lyme Disease/RA. They are such BITCHES!!!

Yeah all of the interventionists are addicts. Really helps them understand the people they help.

A friend of mine was asked to be on True Life, I can't remember the exact topic though - something drug related. He was filling out his information with a rehab facility and MTV producers contacted him a few weeks after and asked if he would be interested in the show. They said they would pay him between $10-15 K. He didn't end up doing it because he went to jail unexpectedly and then his family forced him into a different rehab than the one where they found him. Probably a good thing though since he really would have just ended up spending that money on more drugs.
