Social Justice Black Lives Matter Discussion Thread

It is housing projects, a low income housing scheme in a ghetto. Most people are not going to co-operate with police or claim police were there and they heard them announce their presence at the home of suspects who they had a search warrant for that then shot at the police. Snitches, rats, and bitches that are seen talking to, or cooperate with police wind up in ditches, and all that, or shot by thugs or drug dealers like Breonna Taylor and her boyfriends/pimp were.

blah blah racism blah blah
Hard to take you seriously when this is the best rebuttal you can come up with.

It's not racism. It is true. Or haven't you ever been to or lived in an area with high crime or drug dealers/gang members as neighbours? Do you have any black American friends who grew up in such places, hated it, and became educated, worked hard, and saved up $$$ to escape the ghetto, hood, slum, etc.?

Breonna Taylor and Kenneth Walker have no criminal record. Nothing illegal was found in their apartment. There is no evidence to support your claim that any of the witnesses are gang members or had any reason at all to lie about their recollection of events.

^ indeed.

not only that but these events took place in kentucky, a state that applies the castle doctrine via a 'stand your ground‘ law.

the us concealed carry association said:
A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat. He or she has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another. Force may also be used to prevent the commission of a felony involving the use of force. Any person who uses a gun in self-defense has immunity from criminal and civil law.

if kenneth walker believed that intruders had broken into his house, and he was not taking part in unlawful activity - which he was not - he was well within his rights to shoot. the officers in question were out of uniform.

inalienable right to bear arms? the right to protect your family and your property?

again, where is the outrage by the nra and other 2nd amendment advocates? they should be all over this. but, nothing. silence. because their outrage is - like their defense of gun owners - selective. and by selective, i mean racist.

Right that is the thing. I remember countless times being in the projects and police come. We all run up. They aren't coming in there to be friendly. Have seen some horrible stuff. But that is a very hostile area for anyone. Especially police. Do not know what project / area this was in, but if it were anything like stateway gardens or cabrini greens they will not go there serving a warrant in good mental state. Their reflexes and fear can twitch easy. They are legit trained to kill don't forget and will make sure they don't die 1st.

There should of been some charge here, though. Like involuntary manslaughter at least. Lose his badge, etc. Thats the issue. And can't believe trump really said that. Have to find it.

From the wiki page.
Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, thought they were intruders and fired a gun at them, hitting Mattingly in his leg. The officers fired 32 shots in return.[2][3][4] Walker wasn't wounded but Taylor was hit by six bullets in the hallway inside her apartment and died.[2][5][6][7]

Hankison was fired by the LMPD on June 23, 2020, for blindly firing through the covered patio door and window of Taylor's apartment, according to police chief Robert Schroeder. On September 15, the city of Louisville agreed to pay Taylor's family $12 million and reform police practices.[8] On September 23, a state grand jury indicted Hankison not for Taylor's death, but on three counts of wanton endangerment for endangering a neighbor with his shots. The two other officers involved in the raid were not indicted.[9]

The police were shot 1st. And they returned fire. Fucked up situation but this happens a lot. It could of been white, black, purple, yellow, whatever.

He was fired and the family got 12 million. What more can they do? Charge this guy with murder? No way. It was simple chance she was there.

guy didn't even deserve to get fired but ok.

But here is the flip side. How did these cops manage to fire 32 rounds and not even hit the target. They suck lol. They should all be on desk duty, or go back to basic training. Terrible police work.

Honestly I think all three of those thug cops should've been drug tested. The whole thing doesn't add up.

The lawyers, who have seen all the evidence, claim that the public outrage now is nothing compared to what it will be once all the facts are known.

Why didn't they find drugs or money then?

Why shoot to protect no drugs/money if it's just the police?

Oh come on. Breonna Taylor's neighbors were white, so how is this "the ghetto" again?

The whole thing doesn't add up.
It does when you view this through the lens of racism.

When white cops, or Kyle Rittenhouse for that matter, fatally shoot someone...

but when a black man does it...

All this stuff has been happening for years. But now with the tech we have its all being exposed. Lets hope Biden or Trump cleans this place up.

Um that's a pretty racist thing to say, Cap. Not to mention inaccurate since many races live in ghettos.
No I'm being literal.

ghetto
/ˈɡedō/
noun a part of a city, especially a slum area, occupied by a minority group or groups.

Historically the use of the word implies minority segregation away from otherwise homogenous majority or diverse groups.

"Many races live in ghettos" is literally incorrect by definition of the word ghetto.

No, the full definition is by is that they are segregated by minority groups, interests, religious beliefs , or financial status.

NOT just race.
