Social Justice Black Lives Matter Discussion Thread

I think the bigger issue is systemic, it doesn't fully lie with the police. I would like to believe, if you averaged out the wide variation of individuals that make up the collective whole of police officers, that most are not racist - or at least don't allow their bias or racism to affect their actions while acting as a police officer. The scope is much larger than just the police, and that's why context is important with statistics and numbers.

So what? I have heard the same or worse racism from blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Jews, gay men, lesbian women, transsexual people, etc.
 
Your passion is noted, but again, I think your opinions are just that. You can try to browbeat me and this forum with as much text as you want. But, that will not change the reality of what is truly happening in my country.

😹😂 I have read your completely biased and non-factual writings and arguments, as well as links and sources. You live in an echo chamber or bubble, and look at things, people, countries, ethnicities, etc. from just one perspective only. If anyone is being 'browbeaten' in this forum it is people such as myself and others who do not believe in Marxist/Leftist drivel or propaganda, and who are political moderates or not far left/Marxist. 8)

So, I live in Seattle. When the protesters went to the police chief’s house it was in response to them using tear gas and rubber bullets less than 24 hours after promising not to. Is this right? Maybe not. But neither is tear gassing little kids which is what SPD is doing. We have one of the worst police departments in the country. We’re more scared of the police than anyone else. It’s fucked up, and it isn’t right. There is a breaking point in every civilization, and we are witnessing that all across the country. We’re not lunatics. We’re people who are fucking tired of being beat down. Let’s stop excusing the actions of the police departments by blaming the reactions of their communities. It’s time for a change.

From what I've seen a lot of people are willing to be destructive and violent but not a lot of people are willing to work within the system to affect change. To think that the police force is going to be dismantled and built back up from the ground up I think is pretty naive. Also, making it so it's impossible for the police to do their job is not going to benefit anyone other than criminals wanting a free pass to do as they please. I think if these protesters put more effort in to finding feasible solutions people might take them more seriously, but a lot of them seem content to just throw temper tantrums with no realistic end goal. Once innocent people's lives start being affected is when people start pushing back IIRC.

None of my relatives-both close or distant, or close or distant or ancestors were in what is now Germany then, as they left before the first world war as there were destructive wars, horrible poverty, serfdom was still around, and there were much better opportunities elsewhere. Or they were in countries which were not involved in the Holocaust, or national socialism at all.
