Social Justice Black Lives Matter Discussion Thread

In fact the CIA flooded black neigborhoods in inner cities with crack in the 80s
Blame the CIA. Don't blame white people or police. Protest against the CIA. I'll be there right there with you. The CIA is fucked and responsible for a LOT of our major issues. Never mentioned as a legitimate target by the leaders of BLM though.

If we were actually protesting against the people who were responsible for helping put the black community into such a messed up position then we would be going after people like Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.
But they're there promoting this agenda of protests against police? People need to wake up and stop listening to hypocritical liars.

A people who have been systematically oppressed since the times of slavery, from slavery to Jim Crow and beyond, were introduced to drug dealing as a suddenly viable option to feed their families, and because of this, a culture of violence emerged. This was by design.
This is one plausible explanation. I also place blame on music record executives who directly shaped the image of hiphop culture.
But really we've come a long way and at the end of the day you can only blame others for so long, especially when you squander opportunities and when you live in a country where countless people have proven that you can rise from the depths of oppression (and much worse) and make something of yourself. Capitalism at least gives you the option. You can ignore everyone telling you you're a victim and keeping you complacent and you can get ahead (sometimes it takes a bit of luck). Progressively over time the system has been weighted heavily against EVERYONE, not just black people. Average wages have been stagnant and criminal bankers have been allowed to swindle money from the entire world. Occupy Wall St was a legitimate cause but unfortunately that movement was infiltrated, dispersed and never managed to bring criminal bankers to justice. But at least the target was more accurate. This new movement is just fucking ignorant insanity.

It didn't happen because black people are inherently violent and attracted to murdering each other.
It's going to be a stretch to blame the widely disproportionate rates of black on white violent crime to the societal factors, considering there are far more poor white people in the US and the poorest of the poorest places are white communities.
Some races may have more of a natural predisposition to violence, I don't know. But it shouldn't be off-limits to study that. Like I mentioned previously there are certain traits which in some situations become evolutionary beneficial.

You know, @JGrimez, you bring up some valid points. BLM leadership, at times, seems questionable. I think part of the problem is they can only focus their efforts on so many things at once, and I would agree they deserve scrutiny for what their priorities are. With all that being said, no one is perfect, and I would imagine they're learning as they go. They get a lot of scrutiny for "why don't they do x, y or z", and I would imagine if it continues to evolve, eventually they will be able to address it all. I think they're still headed in the right direction, at least.

In regards to a certain race being more predisposed to violence, I would say human beings are predisposed to violence, and we will evolve to be more violent if survival necessitates that, regardless of the color of skin.

It's also worth mentioning, why go after someone who is on your side? If the goal is to seek change, it's not hypocritical to not go after the people who are currently trying to help you achieve that, regardless of their past actions. I have a hard time understanding that line of logic.

I don't think they are. You're operating under the presupposition that the leaders of BLM are people of conscience who genuinely care about black people. But what is more likely is that they are compromised pawns acting out the will of their benefactors who are Bolshevik Zionists.

Do you have any evidence to provide for this view?

Who are you referring to here

Specifically, Joe Biden. You mentioned they should go after Joe Biden, and he's been attacked a lot lately, especially for some things he has said in the past, bills he has sponsored and how he has voted, and how he doesn't support some of the more extreme proposals from BLM. It would still be counter productive to go after him, or anyone else that would be willing to help make change in their favor.

Well yea if you look at the post before mine one of the founders is stating directly "we are trained Marxists".
The rest we can see from repeating patterns and the deception used by this organization to further their goals.
It's pretty obvious by now that they're focusing solely on white-on-black violence. The evidence and statistics completely destroy their narrative so once you understand this then you can more clearly see what exactly they're trying to do.

He doesn't wanna make change in their favor. Why did he draft bills to lock up blacks in the past? His racism comes through consistently in his senile ramblings.
He's paying lip service now but it is amusing for me to see the Left supporting Biden who is objectively worse than Trump in many areas which they claimed they had serious problems with - like racism and sexual assault.

I am aware that more black people kill black people than other groups. But gang culture doesn't exist in a vacuum. In fact the CIA flooded black neigborhoods in inner cities with crack in the 80s, this is documented fact that we now know because of the release of documents that we now have access to from the Freedom of Information Act. This was done in order to create this very problem, in order to drive down property values so developers could buy up properties and create gentrification, and in order to fill for-profit prisons. A people who have been systematically oppressed since the times of slavery, from slavery to Jim Crow and beyond, were introduced to drug dealing as a suddenly viable option to feed their families, and because of this, a culture of violence emerged. 😂 were you around before base, freebase coke, or crack? Black people have been selling hard drugs including opiates like heroin since the early 1960s in the USA, and the violence and murder has to do with money, not race. Although when dope and coke were controlled by southern European businessmen, neighborhoods of southern Europeans were free of violent crime and there was a lot less violence compared to the unprofessional later gangs of 'black and brown' people, but people knew not to fuck with the multiple Italian mafiosi and later the Colombians who they worked with.

Exactly. Biden is also a complete hypocrite, as is his crackhead son, and they claim Donald Trump is a corrupt businessman, but Donald Trump inherited and earned his money from investing and real estate, unlike Biden who became wealthy from money laundering and shell companies.

Biden also loves to fuck over people any way he can.

Often times these musicians will take this theme one step further and the sing/rap about giving back to their community that they painstakingly crawled out of. It's about overcoming great obstacles and then changing it for future generations.

Pro Athletes as well. I think the 'giving back to your roots' is much more common than known or publicized (though it ought to get more of a spotlight, IMO). But I know of several people from tougher sections of towns who continue to give back to the neighborhoods they grew up in once they make it out and can afford to do so.

What people are scared to address is the cultural issues among the black community. Why do Asian kids value getting A's in schools over black kids? Be honest and work that out and then we'll be on a path to fixing these unfortunate situations.

Do you actually know any Asian people or do you just use the stereotypical one you see in movies for your references? Because probably 75% of my friends in high school were Asian and none of them cared about their grades any more than I did.

You're both being anecdotal, not fact based (give links to stats if you wish to be taken more seriously). My anecdotal reference? My Korean friend in HS wasn't all that bright, just an average kid. The Japanese kid, dumb as a box of rocks but under tremendous pressure from his family to excel. Didn't have too many Chinese, but the Indian kids were all smart AND excelling in classes. Is that genetic to race? I doubt it. Is it attributable to individual motivation? Uh...don't think so, but to the degree that the individual was self-motivated it was an effect of their culture. There was the expectation you don't screw around, you focus and do well, and they did.

Step back to more fact based....

Why Asian Students Still Outdistance Americans - Educational ...
An article outlining family expectations on their children's academic achievement, and how those expectations drive performance. No nifty tables, just coallated interviews and feedback.

Racial achievement gap in the United States
Wiki page with tables and charts, focusing on education and academic performance (graduation-dropout rates, college applications-completion rates) by race (White/Black/AsianPacific/Hispanic) with a lot of data that basically shows the reality = Asians > Whites > Blacks > Hispanics in most of these categories.

Well I've lived in Asia for over 5 years and speak 3 asian languages so I'm kinda more asian than a lot of asians.

So...you are Euro-Australia-Jewish-Asian? Got it ;)

We break for a moment of humor. If you don't find it funny, ok....

I myself have been arrested 7 times. I am a felon. I have been swatted, rushed by near a dozen cops while I was sitting in my backyard, held down with them screaming conflicting directions with a few straight saying "we will fucking kill you" while I had 7-8 guns touching my back and head. I have been scooped off the street because, at 5'5", I supposedly resembled the 6'something white man who robbed a Jack In The Box at gun point.

I also happen to be white.

Fuck BLM

Stop flaunting your history of white privilege.

I had that happen to me the first time when I was only 12yrs old, lol

You happened to be white for the first time when you were 12? How'd that happen?

No peace officer should be allowed to act as judge, jury and executioner.

Yet, some officers have been able to do so, time and time again.

Tell me how many times a cop has killed someone and it NOT been reviewed to determine if the situation called for lethal force according to our standard societal laws? That cops are 'judge-jury-executioner' time and again?

To my recollection, when it happens, the cop typically isn't a repeat offender, he IS taken off duty immediately and the situation reviewed. WHEN they get that far, it is not the norm and it is not acceptable business as usual.

How many decades did injustices committed by the cops go completely unnoticed? How many people were beat up, arrested, and killed before we had cell phone cameras? The only reason they even pretend to care now or take any kind of action is because society has pushed them there.

Actually, he was making a blanket statement about an entire race of people. I was giving an anecdote. Anecdotes and lived experiences are the things you share to combat prejudice and stereotypes.

The south Asians or Indian/Sri Lankan/Pakistani/Bangladeshi people I know joke about how they have the genes or a monopoly at being successful in math, science, engineering, chemistry, medicine, computer science, law, and business both in the subcontinent and whatever country they emigrate to and assimilate, adapt, and become a citizen of. One friend's cousin said, 'I am Indian but I do not want to be just another engineer, scientist, doctor, lawyer, accountant, banker, or surgeon...' I am sure his parents were very angry when they learned this.

@TheLoveBandit

George Floyd doesn’t get to rise from the dead. That is a hard fact no one can refute.

The officer that killed him would probably have gotten away with another slap on the wrist if it had not been documented.

We shall see how the system handles his specific case in the coming months/years.

Being an Indian punjabi we are taught to first get an education and failing that to work hard. We mostly have strong family bonds but in my community, you are considered worthless if you can't put food on the table. Now I fucked up in school but after getting kicked out of continuation school my old man gave me a choice get on the truck try again at education or get the fuck out. There was no other choice and even though I spent decades in addiction I had that work ethic plus the support of my mom and brothers that the most important thing a strong family bond. If I neglected or walked out on my kids I would have no Punjabi talk to me because if I can't be loyal to my kids how could I be loyal to anyone else. Hard work and family is the best way out of poverty we had nothing handed to us can not just blame racism for holding people back you have to get of your arse and work hard and instill there is no easy life work hard now and rela a little when you retire

That one completely slipped my mind (there's so many) - his dodgy dealings in Ukraine. We've literally got him on tape admitting that he withheld a billion $ in aid from Ukraine until they fired one of their chief prosecutors who was investigating the company Biden's son was working for. It doesn't get anymore blatant than that and the people who are ignoring that are still on Trump's case about Russia. It's just comical at this point.

This one was amusing because the left argued for bodycams for police hoping to catch an endless stream of police brutality but it showed the opposite that police the vast majority of time follow protocol and do an effective job and it is the suspects who are generally in the wrong and acting inappropriately. I even saw an article where the left were now saying bodycams were racist, somehow.

It's not anecdotal, Asians score consistently highest on IQ studies and they are over-represented in many fields in academia which is why I pointed out that they are now being discriminated against (irking the ire of virtually nobody).
I tried to link a Forbes article but it wouldn't allow it for some reason, it's called 'Why The Asian American Students Lost Their Case Against Harvard (But Should Have Won)'. Have a read if you're unaware of it.

So...you are Euro-Australia-Jewish-Asian? Got it ;)
Something like that. I truly feel like a citizen of the world and while I like some cultures over others I have an allegiance to the truth and what's good.
I'm not Asian but many have accepted me for learning the languages and being able to adapt to cultural practices.
I'm super interested in learning about other cultures and I also enjoy racist jokes - as do people of all races if they're lighthearted and funny.
