Social Justice Black Lives Matter Discussion Thread

I like what you did there 😉

For real though, as much as I think it's horrible they got hurt, what is Trump even thinking here? He is always so disconnected from the realities of what's happening. It's infuriating to think he does it on purpose, but what if he just truly doesn't understand? My brain hurts trying to make sense of Trump's actions sometimes.

What should he have done? Portland's mayor is allowing this shit to happen by keeping the police department's hands tied and treating the RIOTERS with kid gloves. If their useless mayor won't put a stop this idiocy then time to bring in some enforcement ime.

Two wrongs don't make a right. The mayor failing at his job is bad. Trump sending federal agents into states and cities against our own citizens and violating their rights, 1,000,000x worse, and still isn't going to solve the problem - it's only going to keep making it worse. Trump has no clue how to properly lead a country, I go back to this time and time again. He is the President of a Federal Republic, not the owner of it. DHS' reputation at this point is destroyed because of what Trump is doing, our country operates on very clearly defined laws, a good leader understands the nuances of them and works within the confines of them to come up with the solution. Trump, for whatever reason, dedicates his energy to telling his advisors, government lawyers and his puppet AG Barr to figure out how to take advantage of ambiguous wording to do whatever he wants to do.

So what should he do then? Just let antifa burn and smash these cities down? These are NOT peaceful protests. All these idiots are doing are giving Trump more votes at this point.

The biggest, most glaringly obvious thing I can think of to start: stop being divisive and lead by uniting. He fuels the anger and divide in this country almost every time he opens his mouth, which eventually when something becomes so toxic, normal civil non-violent de-escalation methods become increasingly difficult or impossible. It's like with any toxic relationship, eventually it will turn violent, and Trump's relationship with America is toxic. Beyond that, he won't communicate with Democratic leaders - worse, he creates division between them as well! Trump is even getting to the point where he is attacking Fox News, I mean his toxicness just poisons everything. Our country is fastly reaching a point of impossibly difficult situations to fix in a healthy way, and because of that, I honestly don't know what the short term answer is besides removing the toxic source because Trump isn't going to change. And no, every single poll says otherwise, he is losing voters as an incredibly fast rate. Most of his supporters are finally waking up to the fact that they got manipulated by a narcissist.

The fact you can blame any of this on trump shows your disconnect from reality and lack of understanding of communist tactics

So Trump, the leader and President of our country, has no responsibility for driving the divide further, making it increasingly difficult to handle these sensitive issues as a whole?

More importantly, what productive discussion can happen when you offer no civil argument point but continually make attacks on the person as your argument? Where can that lead?

Hopefully to you researching communist/marxist tactics and gaining a more grounded understanding of reality...

How exactly is trump being devisive?

Did trump throw this BOMB at the portland courthouse last night?

Is this trumps fault because people think he is rude?

Communism 101 yall get a clue

Its not a personal attack against you . It is a factual statement made towards ANYONE blaming trumo for the antifa/blm communist uprisings.

Whoever is doing that tyoe of thinking, is completely ignorant of history and facts.

Dknt get offended get educated.

president trump's inaugural address said:
When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.

The Bible tells us, “how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.

When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.
(my emphasis)

i wonder what his current grade on realizing this vision is?

about the same as the likelihood we're getting a check from mexico for the wall...

An eye for an eye. Maybe, just maybe, we both agree that human life and liberty comes before property and profit.

Because, the way I see it, this is about a projection of power from people aligned with an idea that property and profit come before life and liberty.

As an aside:

Again, George Floyd was a man with a daughter that did his time and was just trying to buy a pack of cigarettes. No one deserves to be executed in the street because he passed a bad bill.

A lot of people in this country are over the abuse of power and priviledge that police unions have afforded individuals like Derek Chauvin, and they are all Americans, just like you and me.

I'm starting to think that Trump is the only one who is going to be able to handle all of this shit. It certainly isn't going to be a Democrat.

I just can't envision how he can do it working within the confines of our system, where states have so much power and control, without working with the governors of the states, whether they are Democratic or Republican, and not against them.

If the mayors and governors are useless in maintaining law and order in their own cities, then fuck 'em. Something needs to be done, and it's been made clear that in blue states this lawlessness is just being enabled.

There are just so many things to list here. So many comments in regards to fueling the fire in regards to racism, the pandemic, attacking science, etc. Beyond that, what I'm mainly getting at here specifically, is the divide with the Democratic governors and mayors. I'm in agreement they are not doing their job well and something needs to be done, I'm just not in agreement with how he is handling it.

I'm in absolutely no way blaming Trump for antifa, the BLM movement, systemic racism, or anything that were problems with our country long before Trump became President. My only point was, his divisiveness did help contribute to the atmosphere that allowed it all to explode (but by no means was entirely his fault, that was only one tiny component.) And then, afterwards, I would at least like to believe had he tried to unite the country things may have went differently, but instead he further kept fueling the fire.

We have been in a declared war on terror since 9/11. The POTUS always has special wartime powers

Have you heard of the Insurection Act?

Truml can legally do whatever he wants.

Its the court of mob rule he must circumnavigate

Richmond police claim white supremacist posed as Antifa at a BLM solidarity rally in Richmond that led to rioting.

Look at the pictures of those arrested.

I see a bunch of browns and a white socialist blogger.

Communism = true white supremacy it seems.
