I somehow have acquired tachycardia and slightly high BP, so selected bisoprolol due to its seemingly minimal side effects profile - it is cardioselective, shouldn't have central effects (??), but get extreme, and I mean extreme, fatigue from it while doing almost nothing about BPM. 5mg put me into bed for the most part of the day while I could have functioned on 150mcg clonidine, and some years ago, I tolerated some experiments with afair propranolol or metoprolol with a healthy low heartbeat, no fatigue.
Is there an interaction with St. John's Wort (thought it would rather induce some CYP enzymes than inhibit, as I was only taking it for 3 days)... Possibly even an through P-gp? (Bisoprolol seems to inhibit P-gp slightly, St. John's is inducing it).
Or is cardioselective a relative term like selective RIs?
I will probably be seeing a cardiologist but what can he really do other than trialing other drugs and check ECG for the xy-th time..?
