My name is Thomas Bilodeau, i am 18 years old and have bipolar disorder. I have done a lot of research on Salvia and is healing powers. I have also talked to some people who have said to me that they have used Salvia to relieve symptoms.

I am going to try this treatment, i am wondering if anyone would like to document me using this method to relieve or treat my disorder.

I will be quibbing and smoking small amounts of Salvia Divinorum when i feel the need to relieve symptoms and hopefully it will restore chemical balance.

i will also be drinking low doses of the Caapi vine during depressive episodes to relieve depression.

if you are interested private message me and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Tom

felt relief

Im 20 years of age and have bi-polar disorder. I noticed when i smoke 80x i had a massive trip and after it was all said and done i was all but happy. In fact i was massively depressed but the following day i noticed no racing thoughts and i felt like i could anything. and i had no symptoms from my disorder for about 6 weeks. id say if you can stand the trip do it its well worth it

I'm not bi-polar but I will say Salvia Divinorum is extremely safe and does not linger very long. I experienced no negative scary feelings tripping on it but it can happen. It wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

I have seen some research before of Bipolar people smoking it and seeing a temporary change for random X time. The same concept going around for mushrooms and cluster headaches.

Hope it works out for you %)

I have bipolar disorder and I can tell you that you are being extremely foolish by experimenting with drugs in the hope that you will somehow be able to treat your condition on your own. I cannot blame you, however, because for many years I was in deep denial about my condition. I also experimented heavily with psychedelics for two years and found myself in ruin because of it; most recreational substances trigger mania in persons who have bipolar disorder. I am lucky to have survived my last manic episode.

Seek proper treatment and take the proper medications. The only effective way of treating bipolar disorder is by taking some form of mood stabilizer, perhaps in tandem with an atypical antipsychotic. The brains of persons who have bipolar disorder have some physical abnormalities and the way in which the brain processes certain key neurotransmitters is flawed. The only way to correct this problem is by taking the proper psychiatric medications.

Hopefully you will not have to learn from the same mistakes that I have made, that is, if you make those mistakes and are lucky enough to survive them. If you want to bring anything up with me please contact me via PM rather than addressing me in this thread.

Salvia Divinorum is incredible, a tidal energy wave of mythic proportions. The trips can be very confrontational in breaking open binds ignored or resisted in oneself. They have the power to take you completely out-of-body and put you in a full experience of other dimensions, some of which are extremely complex and bizarre.

However, smoking Divinorum can be incredibly tricky. Not only do you come-up in 30 seconds and are there for a too-short amount of time, but when you get slotted back into reality, you don't really get offered a period of integration, of fusing the experience into your life, unlike the Mushroom or LSD where you're given the generous blessing of a long come-down with plenty of breath for integration. This could prove troublesome considering your condition.

However, if you're aware of your degree of intake and can make sure to have more of a threshold (maybe "Level 2" if you've researched the 6-level system of Divinorum intensity) experience, there can indeed be levels with psychotherapeutic benefits. For this, if you insist on smoking rather than the quid method, I would recommend that you smoke pure leaf rather than an extract, because it makes degree of intake FAR more manageable. Of the dozen or so experiences I've had with Divinorum, two of them, both smoking pure dried leaf and both I'd consider a level 2, I would consider to be very psychotherapeutic. One of which felt very much like cerebral/intellectual integration, like fusing all ideas of the self into one idea of the self, and the other was much more of an empathic integration, like fusing all unique, conflicting emotions into One fluid emotional energy. The latter trip seems like it could be a positive healing therapy for someone with a bi-polar condition. However, this being said, THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES THAT THIS IS WHERE THE PLANT WILL TAKE YOU. This goes for all psychedelics, but Salvia Divinorum especially. So, if you're set on this, preparation for what it could be is crucial, and that includes setting out the days for yourself afterward if you do find the Salvia puts you in a depressive state when you come back...

Both psilocybin mushrooms and LSD if used with the right intentions have more of a psychotherapeutic proclivity, and both the "take-off" and most importantly the "landing" of those psychs are much more accommodating for someone looking to overcome a discordance. But Salvia is still worth your regard, and honestly I'm a little excited to see someone in your situation consider it.

I'd like to add a little personal advice from me to you. Perhaps you should consider that the plants won't necessarily make you overcome what you're attempting to overcome, but consider that they might instead illuminate for you ways to live with it, so that your life is more enriching and less negatively affected by the condition in question. Just an idea...re-examine your intentions. Are you looking for ways to rid a significant aspect of yourself? Or would you rather look for ways to understand and ultimately accept that aspect, which is a part of you?

EDIT: As I see you've offered in the original post, I reflect. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or ideas. And let us know how things go when/if you put this self-devised treatment into action; your experience reports and summaries could be valuable to us.
