Homeopathic remedies are so dilute they can not possibly be of any harm, but also so dilute that they aren't of any benefit; unless you believe that serial dilution and vigorous shaking(succussion) actually result in a mystical potentization of the initial substances. Homeopathy lacks any substantiation by non-homeopathic sources. The usual response of homeopaths is to say that traditional medicine won't recognize homeopathy because their profits lies in chronic diseases rather than producing health.
I've wanted to believe. My dabblings with homeopathy have left me convinced it lacks any basis in reality. I do believe having a good ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 fatty acids by consuming fish oil, walnuts, flaxseed, etc. does help with bipolarity. There are sound theoretical reasons for this as well as some studies that support the proposition.
Regarding "random pharmaceuticals"-they might not always be used well but they have their place and with a good practioner I don't think they'll be exactly random but finding the best meds does often require a bit of trial and error.
