Best Therapeutic Psychyedelic?

I am shocked that no one has mentioned ayahuasca?!? A ton of people believe ayahuasca is the most healing, therapeutic and spiritual of all psychedelics (see ayahuasca.com for tons of info, which has an excellent forum). It definitely has been for me, but it can be a very intense experience, and intention and "set and setting" are really important and greatly affect the experience. I would agree with the poster who said the real question is not which is the most therapeutic psychedelic, but what can you to do make your psychedelic experience the most therapeutic. What the "best" psychedelic is for a particular purpose is can be subjective, and is really dependent on what you do with it.

However, I would not necessarily recommend ayahuasca for someone with little psychedelic experience, someone who has had "bad" experiences with other psychedelics, or to do it by yourself or at home for the first time. I think it is immensely worth it to do it with a shaman or facilitator, or at least someone very experienced, the first few times you try ayahuasca. Also remember that it can be very different each time.

I noticed that further down in the thread the OP asked something about which is the friendliest psychedelic. Friendliness (or happiness/easiness of experience, etc) is not the same thing as how therapeutic a drug/plant is. Some of the most healing experiences can be difficult and not exactly fun. So it really depends what your goals are and what you are ready for.

If you are looking for a reliable and friendlier psychedelic, the one I personally found to be most consistant and happiest and with the least side-effects would be good-quality LSD. Mushrooms are a good second choice, a little more grounded and earthy, but they are less predictable and IME people report more "bad trips" or getting sick with mushrooms than with LSD. I think it really comes down to finding what works for you personally though. Do lots of research and be safe :-)
