Best opiate for social anxiety?

You've gotten some great advice. Neurotin/gabapentin changed my life. It stopped anxiety and panic attacks for me. Try it, and see how it works.

Lyrica/pregablin is like taking a concentrated form of Neurotin/gabapentin. Both work well for anxiety issues.

About the opiates, they are addictive. I detoxed, in jail, on the floor naked. It was brutal and not something I'd ever suggest anyone try. I didn't think I'd have ever ended up doing time in jail...believe. It ruined my life.

I understand crippling anxiety. Getting into to opiates will have you dealing with a lot more anxiety than help and pleasure. Neurontin and Lyrica are a safer choice. You will feel good from them too.

Well let me say that turning to any drug that has a moderate to high potential for abuse/dependency is not good to take long term for social anxiety. I know this is probably not want you want to hear and you want to take something and just get on with what is important to you in life, but I can say from my own experience being a bit shy, I would not become dependent on such and since you obviously have access to high potency opioids I would say its not a good idea to use any of those for social anxiety.

Let me give you an example of my thought as if it were me in your situation. If I had a lot of social anxiety which I feel I do to an extent, I know personally that no doctor is going to prescribe an opioid to treat an anxious mind or its highly unlikely they would. However there are doctors who would see that using an opioid in moderate dosages no high dosages could legitimately see this use to treat an anxious mind as substance misuse and not addiction. But I am telling you now that if you are going to take high doses of opioids to calm your nerves it will work initially yes, but as you get more dependent it will lead to high dosages if you use it daily and you may become addicted if you cross that line and choose to. Yes its my belief that addiction is a choice and not some unknown brain disease which some doctors are trying to toss around. You choose to take a substance nobody is forcing it into you, period!

Bottom line is, I would look at trying to become more comfortable in social settings and perhaps seek out some support groups in your area or meet up with others who share this issue and/or try to limit your use of drugs and focus on getting some relaxation from being among people! Because trying to mask this issue while its a tough issue I admit, its not the answer to use these substances all the time. I could see using some in the beginning but lower or tapering off as you get comfortable otherwise you will just grow to depend on them to feel "normal"!

Otherwise man if you do choose to use these substances, keep the dose low and use in very strict scheduling and not everyday. You have to set boundaries and reasonable usage guidelines to deal with this issue and if you cannot, you will likely end up in a darker place then you are now!

I would say a couple of oxys or I would take tramadol as it makes me euphoric and energic yet calm I add 2mg bar of Xanax to that 300 mg of tram and I'm more social and can really connect with people on that level
