26 Years straight H user just kicked 5 days ago.
So hello everyone.
Ill try and find the forum to post in regarding recovery. I am going through some crazy shit here. Kicked here at home. Now its like i have to be setting up placebo rigs and that somehow fills a deep need. Just setting up using water. Was at times up to 2 or 3 Gs a day. i STEPPED OUT TO AROUND .75 A DAY AND just stopped and asked my friend to sit on me for a few days. This i need to stop but i get the feeling im going to score again at some point. I hate it is so easy to get and so cheap. I have plenty of resources and can afford to sit in my opium den for years again it would seem. I dismantled the area out in my shop where i have sat and fixed for years. I had it all tricked out.
Huge PA system with a live console and instruments set up to play and so on. then 50 feet away is the recording studio where i have made countless records in the last 30 years and it all looks so different now that I am not firing up..
Any ways... Hello all.

Hey seattle user, welcome aboard and for finally signing up! :)

Awesome news on getting sober! The forum you'll probably find most helpful is Sober Living. Check it out and see if it's helpful.

Definitely work on getting some new habits and hobbies - sometimes it's the only way to break apart the old scoring habit, especially when money is no issue :\ How about travel? Have you ever fancied spending time in other places?

Welcome, Seattle! It's nice to see someone else on here from the Pacific Northwest--I'm at the other corner of the state, out in the desert, but I'm still a Northwesterner and proud of it! Congrats on deciding to kick and get clean. I've been clean for a while, although I'm on longterm, possibly lifetime Suboxone maintenance for chronic pain. I've been on it for ten years now, and other than that, which I use as prescribed (most of the time) I live a recovery life. I'm usually on the Sober Living forum, but have begun trying to get out of myself by welcoming new people more. CFC said the right thing--when we quit using there's a huge hole in our lives that has to be filled with something else, or eventually we'll go back to drugs to fill it in. Exercise, especially things like yoga, are excellent as they have many beneficial effects on your mind and body. Nutrition and other healthy living is important too. I'm just now learning meditation, and really hoping that it will help me as much as it's helped many other people. ~namaste~

Welcome to bluelight! I wish you best of luck in your recovery journey. Have you considered a maintenance drug? I would suggest kratom ( What I currently use) or suboxone. If they arent strong enough methadone might be for you but it can be even harder to kick than dope.

Using a maintenance drug will improve your chance of success, but I understand the desire to just get off everything, so if thats how you're feeling then all the power to ya!
