Dexium, that is fucking beautiful.
if ya dont mind me asking, what'd you do to it? i kno you flipped it and overlapped the mirror, but how'd you get that "wrinkly almost gaseous" looking effect?
very very nice

haha swoosh, that et one is great
dexium, i must agree with matt, that is a beautiful image. the jewel tones and waviness give a lovely warm evil feeling :) i especially like the glow of the white. good job*

Am I the only one that noticed this? Spooky!
ok...Edit.....Wife just got home and some of you may think i'm nuts. I asked her to look at the image and I had to point it out to her. Apparently it's because i'm colorblind.(deficient) I notice shapes more then colors on pictures like that. Somebody help me out here.....do you see the image?

I guess dex isn't gonna come back to tell us how he made that "flame" look.
Noodle.............what do you mean you can't post images? Also..........I think you could have taken some of the lines with the rivets and colored them the same "yellowish" color.........maybe ran them diagonally or across? I don't know.........it's cool though!
It's funny to see how all of our creative minds think differently. I think i'm gonna post this image on another forum to see what they come up with.

Hey guys. I really regret not saving my original photoshop file now, because I can't remember all the steps I took to get the nice effect I obtained here. But I can give you a rough guide... it's really easy.
In photoshop:
1) I created 3 duplicate layers of the image, and each of these was blured with a different blur, (radial spin, radial zoom and gaussian). I then set the opacity of these layers to a level where the original picture was still the main emphasis, but it had gained a kind of glowing, diffusion lens look (the merge types were left to normal).
2) I created another duplicate layer of the original and put a distort->ocean ripple filter on it (both parameters at 9), and set the merge type to overlay, and the opacity to around 50%.
3) I then flattened that image played with it's levels somehow (can't remember), duplicated that layer, and flipped it. I then set the duplicated layer's merge type to multiply.
thats roughly how I did it. I have a feeling i've missed out more than just where i played with the levels, but you guys will get the picture (no pun intended) if you manage to work out my rushed instructions.

btw NoodleGurl, i really like your peice.. damn styleish. Minimal, industrial, slick. yum. Swoosh, your ET moon just rocks. The connection between the original subject and the finished grafic is clever.. there's a fancy phrase for that but I forgot what it was. Startripper, your image is kewl and it would be great as a background for some nice dark foreground abstract shapes/text or something trippy like that.
ok peeps since I didn't actually get the thumbs down for my last attempt at fucking a picture up, I've done it again :D
