anyone do chili powder? I`ve got peppers in a dehydrator and am wondering about the best way to powder them. I`m thinking coffee grinder, but if there`s a way you do it, I`d like to hear about it.

I`ll do that amanda... In the next day or so...
I`ve never grown the lemon cukes... I`ve seen them... Something to think about for next year I guess.

grill the eggplants.

or make curry. i still have tomato's, but only a few of them are turning red. last night i picked a bunch of green one's and made fried green tomato BLT's.

peppers and eggplants are starting to struggle. think i'm gonna chop all that shit down this weekend and plant some fall stuff. i already have some greens and carrots planted, but will plant more this weekend.

here's a pic of my dank ass sandwich.

i'm totally allergic to eggplants, i'm not even sure why we planted them?

sandwich looks great, plate not so much, friendo.

I`ve got some pretty cabbages coming in. Only a weird garden freak would think of cabbages as "pretty".

My kale, carrots, and kholrabi that I planted after my onions came out are comming along nicely. Tomatoes are not doing so good these days... Cool weather is taking it`s toll on them.

The sweet corn that was planted after english peas tastes really good now.

I received some bean seed from one of my customers that isn`t available comercially (I think). His family has saved them for at least 4 generations. I have no idea where they came from but searching online hasn`t given me any clues. It`s a nice wide green bean with dark maroon seed. It`s a bush bean with a few short runners. I let them all go by so I could increase my seed supply. They are drying now.

my cherry tomatoes (the variety is called coyote) are still going strong. they will continue to produce until the first frost kills the vines. i originally selected the variety because they were a local heirloom and they have not disappointed.

yea, i still got tomato's right now. but i'm ready to chop the fuckers cuz they're taking up an entire row (i only have two 12x2 rows). i did get the other row planted this weekend with mustard greens, lettuce, pak choy and beets.

i'll probably harvest what's left of my maters, even the green one's, and plant some more fall shit in that row this weekend.

well, it looks like we're getting chickenscratch's backyard neighbor as our new roommate. he makes beer and stuff. he's currently unemployed so i think we're going to put him to work fixing up our overrun beds. they are a mess. and also convert one of the rooms in our garage into brew room. we've been meaning to start brewing for months now, but it's just a pain in the ass to go see Pander's brother in Athens and get the shit. Especially now since it's football season, and Athens is hell on earth during football season. it's cooling down, so the egg production is kind of shutting down -- instead of 4 or 5 eggs a day, we're now down to like 2 or 3, which isn't bad.

why do you feel like you have to go to athens to get what you need to brew beer? i've never understood that.

is it just cuz PB's brother gets a hook up, or something?
