(Ayahuasca) Question about decocting

It's going to be my first time doing ayahuasca, and I'm doing it under the supervision of a well trusted and experienced friend.

I'm planning to take:
b. caapi 35g
p. viridis (peruvian) 15g

I know that for a stronger trip you need to decoct the b. caapi on low-medium heat for a couple of days, or at least that's how they do it traditionally. What I'm not sure about is the decocting time for the viridis. Because it's a leaf, I'm assuming it takes a lot less time?

Also, should I drink everything at once or split it up throughout the night? I've read that the above doses make for a good intro. but I'm not clear on if any dosing intervals are required.

I've also never done an MAOI before so I'm a tad apprehensive, though I have been following the MAOI diet to avoid those complications.

I couldn't imagine the DMT content would be lowered more by an hour or so of pressure boiling versus a couple days of simmering at standard pressure... I think it would be about the same loss, maybe with some product conserved with pressure boiling over the traditional method....

15 grams of P. viridis is quite low. It might work if you are particularly sensitive and the caapi is exceptionally strong. It does not take a large amount for me to be totally within the Ayahuasca, and I always require at least 40-50 grams of chacruna.

As to the intake. Better to have it in one shot, however gross it might feel. And it is gross! But, as your amount of plant material is small I would do something that might be better. Boil the caapi separate from the chacruna, also the caapi requires much more time for decoction, so it is beneficial. Use at least 2-4 hours to boil the caapi, it it is well crushed or ground. For the chacruna, 30 minutes of boiling the crushed the leaves are enough. For both plants, after removing the liquid, add some more water to the solids remaining and boil for 5-10 more minutes, that will ensure that the actives are mostly removed from the plant matter. One important issue: Add some vinegar to the boilings, both of chacruna and the caapi, this will be fundamental to release the majority of the alkaloids.

With the two potions, whenever you feel prepared, drink the caapi brew first - you can do it slowly,as that is clearly the worst part, but do not take more than 5-10 minutes to have it all. Then 20 minutes from starting drinking the caapi, drink the chacruna in one go.

If you are lucky and your ingredients are strong, you will have a nice trip.
