AUS: New pill hopes to end meth addiction

They just need to realize methamphetamine is a part of the next step of human evolution. Most people will lose their minds, go insane, and will never contribute to the gene pool. Those who do well with it will go far. We'll become more immune to destructive drug addiction as a species as time goes on.

Why end the addiction? Addiction and withdrawal as a whole has no magical one-dose cure. It does not exist.

Maybe the AUS gov't should synthesize their own meth, provide it to addicts a few times throughout the day in safe use facilities at relatively modest dosages, so they can have some form of maintenance. Mental health care could be just steps away.

Fighting the war on drugs is never going to work for you guys. Take Switzerland's approach. It worked for them with their heroin problem. It will work with your heroin and meth problem. Save your citizen's lives. They're worth it.

I kinda dig that, but it also overlooks a lot. Such as, why people get into addiction in the first place. Some do it because it seems to enhance their nature abilities, but I'd bet it more often has to do with attempting to deal with difficult emotions/experience/consequences of trauma(s).

And it conflates all experiences of addiction. Some may be rather pleasant, while others are just a shitload of suffering and trauma. I guess it really depends what you mean by addiction.

Drug dependency isn't so much what I'm thinking here. Under the right circumstance that can actually be managed fairly well. I'm thinking of addiction in the sense of overwhelmingly involvement with attempts to self-sooth via certain behaviors that result in net a increase of harm and suffering.
