More than 100 people have been charged as part of a two-night nationwide blitz on methamphetamine trafficking.
The operation targeted 14 regional areas identified through the National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program, which is aimed at tracking drug use across Australia, Minister for Justice Michael Keenan said in a statement.
Police in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia charged a total of 117 people with 234 offences, he said.
The charges related to alleged "drug possession, proceeds of crime offences, weapons and firearm offences, and driving offences," Mr Keenan said.
"A number of charges relate to the supply of ice within remote communities."
Ice, cannabis, MDMA and other illegal drugs were seized, with a total estimated street value of more than $580,000.
The following locations were targeted:
* New South Wales: Boggabilla, Marulan and Gillenbah
* Queensland: Stanthorpe, St George, Goondiwindi, Bundaberg, Charters Towers and Innisfail
* South Australia: Riverland and Mt Gambier
* Western Australia: Coolgardie and Kalbarri
"Police intercepted 3823 vehicles, conducted 2818 breath tests, 367 drug driving tests and issued 173 traffic infringement notices," Mr Keenan said.
He said the government would target drug supply in regional and metropolitan areas, particularly that associated with "outlaw bikie gangs".
