I have permission to post the following survey, run by the Australian drug user advocacy group AIVL.
As part of AIVLs ‘Discrimination: know your rights!’ online anti-discrimination campaign AIVL have released a short online survey for people experiencing discrimination, because of either; their drug using status, being on opioid replacement pharmacotherapies, and/or being hep C + or HIV +.
The survey can be directly accessed here: http://www.aivl.org.au/discriminationsurvey
We are collecting information on experiences of stigma and discrimination (how drug users are discriminated against and who is discriminating against them) with the hope that it can be used to provide us with more information about what’s happening to people (and how this impacts them), and the types of services that are discriminating against people.
This short survey is completely anonymous - none of the details left can be followed up, nor can we identify names or places.
While the survey has only been ‘live’ for a short time, to date, we have had some very interesting feedback from a number of people. We hope to disseminate the results of this feedback soon through the AIVL Research & Policy Update.
Along with the survey we have also have a more general webpage where people can access information about their rights, stigma & discrimination, you can access this link here: http://www.aivl.org.au/knowyourrights
If people have any questions about the website or survey please feel free to Laura Liebelt, Senior Research & Policy Officer (Tues, Thurs & Fri), AIVL – Australian Injecting & Illicit Drug Users League Inc. Email - [email protected]
