Is there anyone who can see the auras of objects or people? If so, were you born with that ability or did you train yourself to do so? And, for those of you who cannot see auras, do you believe in that stuff?

I was told recently that my aura is violet, and last night it had silver streaks and flecks of green in it. But, by two previous people, who also claimed the had they ability to see auras, they refused to tell me my colour.

Never seen one. Always wished I could.
I've thought I could see a clear aura in which backgrounds are clearer than elsewhere but I think that's just a perspective illusion. Never seen colours. :(

No, I haven't ever really even tried to see them...so, I guess for all intensive purposes, that means I can't.

I do think they are real. But I mean...I also think there are other, not necessarily visual ways, to see the same information, and I've been trying to learn these ways...

A few of my friends at my x-uni claimed they could see them. I am not sure how accurate their descriptions were, since I don't really know THAT much about the whole deal, but they were rather into this for a while.

I don't consider it an invalid area of research/study, if you're asking that. But I would urge you to take it seriously...(people who get all giddy about being able to see auras kinda annoy me.)

I thought I saw people's auras once, I'm not sure yet, though. Not entirely. I am still quite skeptical about things like that, but I'm taking the time at the end of this month to find out for sure ;)

I was told once that people who know what your aura looks like don't often tell you what color it is - that makes me skeptical. Personally when I saw them I did not see a color, just outlines - and apparently that is common for those who claim to see them?

I've honestly never heard of auras having streaks and flecks. I've heard of pills having streaks and flecks, but not auras ;)

yep, people sure do have technicolor auras whenever I have migraines.. LOL

I didn't start seeing these until after I used a lot of LSD, and the 2Cs. I can see them all the time when sober though. A lot of them aren't just color, but more of speckles too.

i remember my ex gf showing me some photos of her kids (twin girls) and 1 of them in particular always seemed to have blueish photographic distortions near her when photographed..... at first i put it down to coincedence and sloppy photo lab work but there was at least 5 or 6 photos affected like this all of the same kid....... quite freaky. While I think that a lot of "aura photography" and shit you see going around shopping centres and psychic fairs is bs, I certainly have an open mind to such posibilities...

There is a type of photography which supposedly sees/makes visible auras. It's called kirlian photography.

The equipment which produces the Kirlian photographic effect uses no light but only the radiation spark discharging from an object being photographed on a film emulsion. The equipment consists of a metal plate and a generator or oscillator that produces a high voltage field of variable pulse and frequency. Film put in contact with the plate and with the object on top of it causes a photograph to be produced. Depending upon the type of film used - instant color film, 35-millimeter black and white film, or something else with an emulsion that records images - different colors or shadings appear in a brilliant corona surrounding the object.

Tesla experimented with the predecessor of kirlian photography.

Personally, I believe in it! I have a picture of mysed + aura that was done using this method; I'll try and get it online for you.

I have also taken a brief class on seeing auras -- i.e. they train you to see auras. It was through a new age bookshop. I suggest you check out bookshops like this in your area as many of them sponsor such events.

The class was a few hours, but by the end of it some people were able to fully see auras. I could only see a slight whitish haze surrounding people, which could have been psychosomatic, so I wasn't able to do it for the most part.

One thing I can do, though, and which I have pretty much always been able to do after being briefly shown how, is FEEL auras. I put my hands in the space around the person and slowly move my hands inwards and outwards until I feel the boundary of the person's aura pushing lightly on my hands. I've done this for people who have then had their auras photographed, and the approximate thickness of their auras was confirmed in the photograph.

I doubt very much I can see auras, but I associate people and numbers and stuff to colours, - I know there is a thing to describe that, it is nothing spiritual. But in saying that, I find those people I see as red or green, I tend to shy from - no reason why, but I tend to find I dont feel as comfortable nor as easy to get along with those people.

stupid really. But I do believe you can feel auras, BUT in saying tha,t is it possible that you feel an affinity or a subconscious drawing to people and believe that to be a pleasing aura? would you be able to be near someone and say, they have a bad aura/ or do you generally just base this on insticnt and personal 'vibes' about a person?

There is a book "Man Visible and Invisible" by Charles W. Leadbeater which deals auras and that for very wide range. This book deals with different types of men as seen by means of trained clairvoyance. According to that book, people doesn't have auras just in one color, but in many different colors, that form persons aura/"body". There are few kind of body's that this book list...astral body, mental body etc(I don't know if I got that right...or was it physical level, astal level, mental level, buddha level?) People have color spectrum that describes them. Thees colors changes when person is in different emotional state. There are different specter of colors for anger, happiness, sadness etc. This was all from the book and like all books, they can say many things... like bible. Just for thuus who are interested.

I personally haven't seen auras, but I don't say that they don't exist.

That book also gives color for different states. Like black means malicious and hostility.
So, if person learns color meanings, then he can give color for different persons? So you can train youself to see auras. That isn't fun or interesting if you train yourself to them that way.

Ok, I stop rambling.

^ yea I think so... (to Pomplemous)

My fav color (in general) has been light blue for a helluva long time...I recently realized I also like yellow, a lot...

So yea, I am not a big fan of red/green, either. They are just too in-your-face, and I'm not really sure what they're trying to say.
Cause, for example, I am not really afraid of blood, but neither does it really get me excited...I dunno...it's not some kinda significant thing to me, it's just a fluid that runs through our bodies and makes us work...maybe that's cause I'm a bio major? ;)

But yea, I always get vibes off people. I don't really picture people as having colors, but I might be able to if I tried...I never really cared to.

(edit) Heh, I just realized my avatar is all red + green, lol, but oh well, I like it anyhow. Maybe I am red/green aura, myself, and wish I were blue or yellow? Who knows?

Hahaha, and I am always wary of you for it! haha. joke.

I dont know, the red and green people I just ... I dont know, I dont choose people's colours, just when I think of them, I see the colour and I have come to notice that I dont want to be ner the red and green people.
I did one of those stupid aura tests years ago on www.emode.com
and it said I had a golden aura (sounds good) haha.but I like people I think of as yello wnad I dont know why but orange people I just want to have my hands on all the time - though I hate touching people, I want to touch these people.

POmp = freak = dont care.

maybe it is just their smell or their vice, but can that be described as an aura?

I've seen an aura once, when I was experimenting with meditation based around seeing auras. On a pot plant, it was violet. Havent seen it since then. We have many filters on our sensory perception, we by no means take in all that is around us or even all that our sensory perception can pick up. A lot of people go through entire sections of their life on automatic. It could be possible that you can see auras, especially with some type of awarness enhancing meditation done over a few years.

but why should it be a .... a trick or a skill you refine? I would have thought you either had it or you dont.

how do we even know they exist to be seen?

nah, nothing is like "you have it or you don't"
well except maybe your physical characteristics
but i'm not even really sure about that...
