Awesome article to read for anyone in immediate post acute wd, quitting smoking, chronic alcoholism, and in general if you enjoy learning new things. It goes over the symptoms of low dopamine, the physiological effects, bodily systems impacted, and medical, dietary, and lifestyle choices that impact production of dopamine, such as the importance of zinc.

I know for myself, having quit suboxone about 3 weeks ago, I am still dealing with rls, commonly associated with depleted dopamine stores, and mucuna pruiens helps significantly with that. In case anyone didn't know mucuna is a natural source of l-dopa, which is broken down by carboxyl enzymes into dopamine, both in and out of the cns.

Hopefully someone will find this useful.

Thank you for posting this link. It was interesting, and very useful. I liked the focus on natural remedies, i.e. dietary changes and stress reduction through meditation ideas very much. I don't want to bore you with the details of my life, but this article helped me make sense of several depressive episodes I have suffered over the past years.

I've never really heard of lyrica until lately. A family friend is a manager of a surgery and says there's an outstanding number of foreign people trying to get a prescrption of it without any documentation or past record of being prescribed it. Is it just beneficial to restoring dopeamine levels or does it have a recreational value too?
