Are Realisations Real?

some realizations one has while under the influence can be quite meaningful, others, while perhaps meaningful at the time, are utter nonsense. This is why it is important to have some sober time in between trips to "integrate your experience." And if you're coherent enough to wonder if you're a nutter, you're probably not.

Couldnt have said it better myself.

LSD has had a profound effect on my personal beliefs, the nature of good and evil, the point of life etc. etc. I definatly consider alot of these realisations to be more than pointless dribble (though some of them are just that), I guess they come about as a result of your brain overclocking.

I disagree that realizations are no more than potential actions. It doesn't necessarily work like that. At least not directly. You can realize something about the metaphysical aspects of the world and of reality that go far beyond anything one person could ever act on or accomplish. But when it becomes integrated in that persons paradigm it can change the way this person interacts with the world because he sees it differently.
So eventually it is manifested in action, but not directly 1-on-1 like you need to act on a specific realization that flashes before your eyes consciously. It is embedded in your unconscious and works through it.

Yeah a lot of realizations can be rather pointless though ^ as if you were puzzling with pieces of the world trying to fit them together, but they are still only a reflection that say just as much about yourself as does about the world. But in a way these are not realizations although they may seem like them. They are simulations of your ego within your mind. True realizations are the ones that free you from this and resolve these dissociated simulations that compound the illusion of separation.

^Well said. Many metaphysical realizations have no direct application toward everyday life but can indirectly change the way we interact with the world.

Any realization had whilst under the influence of psychedelics is just as valid as any realization had whilst sober. The hardware you're using to come to the realization is the same. The only thing you changed out (temporarily) is the software. I think being able to recall, and yes, even incorporate said realization only lends itself to allowing you to be able to see if you are ready for such a realization. This is also a means of discovering how "worthwhile" such a realization was.

Of course all this is just opinion

Sounds about right

Realizations need a reality check.
(O RLYzation?)

^ Good stuff B9. My thoughts exactly! Everything started as an Idea > Thought > Physical Expression. Real is somewhere in between and encompasses all.

I think so, to an extent. They were for me on LSD, i realized how the world truly could be.
