Are psychedelic amphetamines toxic or anything?

In many cases I would not worry about neurotoxicity of most compounds. Most of the "neurotoxicity" as government scientists have brainwashed you to believe, really are only effects due to depletion of neurotransmitter stores and desensitization of receptors that occurs.

Neurons take very long to regenerate, but the only neurotoxicity that comes with things like amphetamines is caused by oxidation or covalent binding to receptors, not damage to the neuron itself. Guess what? Receptors regenerate every two weeks or so. For example, the irreversibly binding opioid antagonist naloxazone will only work until the receptor is recycled by endocytosis. Different system, but same idea.

The real neurotoxins are things like MPTP and manganese, which destroy the neurons themselves through other mechanisms having to do with things such as disruption of mitochondria in the neurons, but not actions on the receptors.

According to..?

surrеalist: AFAIK neurotoxicity is a broader term for all unnatural (long term?) changes in the nervous system, it does not limit to just neuronal damage.
