Haha this is great.

Not a lot, I still have my aims.

Except suffer, it's still banned to this day.

Glad to see everyone :)

All these things are the reason I became interested in computing. I remember being like age 11 using Hex Editors on other people's progz to make it seem like I made the product. There was an awesome anti-punter that I dubbed as my own. I felt so sweet. Of course my parents wouldn't subscribe to AOL so I had to go to friends' houses to do it all...until I figured out how to go into chat rooms, pretend like I was from TOS team and get people to gimme their pw's via IM. Then it was just a matter of creating a sub-account off their main and do my evil deeds.

Man those were some fun times. Now I'm a network engineer thanks to it all. I hope this thread keeps living on.

AOL was fuckin slow. 28k-56k modem... the worst. Those cds were funny now I think of it, ahaha it costed them an estimated $300 million supposedly. I think I just threw them in the garbage. aol spamming me with cds.

I remember the ICQ & MSN toolz, pretty funny...

I recall using some free dial up provider (you had to look at some ad banner) but there was a removal tool for it in some version.

#throwback

Anyone remember HOST PCCL Tim?

(Edit: I might have been HOST COMP Tim, I don't remember, because HaXz was also a HOST **** Tim)

That was my real community account, I often would moderate chat rooms and then drop into
pr's to gag people.

I do I do! This topic might be completely dead, but wow! Remember Tbonez?

Whhat was your handle and what private riom did you hang out in

Im ashamed to say i had a grip of aol progs and moved on to spammers when i realized there was money to be made

If you know these programs your something like a hacker:

Trinok's pw cracker
Green eggs and spam
SpaM2k
Spizam
Citrus pw cracker (first program that you had to get a registration key from the creator[citrus]
Disco OH scroller

I spent emberassing amounts of time scamming internal and overhead AOL accoubt with instakiss and eveNtually active x.

Sub7 used to get me hella INTs when it first came out.

Indented screen names (ICASES)

"Leet screen names"

There are actually people that never moved on from this phaze and gather to talk about this shit on a daily basis

I am so embarassed

If you understand 50% of this post dont ever talk to me
Haha this brings some memories back.. Don't forget SecurID.. I still have some laying around..

I4qqA1G.png

Haha, I used to use the securid tokens for work, up until quite recently actually.

Man this thread made me feel warm and fuzzy to read. :) Early Internet days were so cool. I wish I'd been a little bit older so I would have been interested in sitting on domain names that big companies would want to buy from me and other stuff to cash out on the original dot com boom. I was like 12 when we got the Internet though, I was more interested in MUDs and punting fuckers. =D

I know I couldn'tve been the only one that got big into programs called 'punters' and 'progies', which allowed you to MASS IM spam someones AOL username, not only that you could MASS email bomb the bitch and send 1,000+ EMAIL msgs, and each saying something different so 'they' had to go through and individual delete each email 1 by 1.
oh and when you were in AOL chat rooms, or wanted 2 troll the Nickelodeon chat rooms you could choose a 'Macro' and be able to shoot the bird, and macro some dirty shit.

programs such as ice toolz, fire toolz, and a few others! :)

needles to say, i got my mom banned from AOL for this shit for life.
I literally spent 90% of my free time in the early-to-mid-90's teaching myself to code in Visual Basic 3, VB4, and eventually VB5 (later in the 90's) and developing AOHack ProGz in my mom's basement that I would test and use via our 'family' America Online account lol I only got banned once. All those years... and all of the accts I TOS'ed ( or worse o.O ) while testing my newest proggie i was working on...plus all the free WaReZ I either directly distributed or helped distribute by means of my latest AOHack tool...and ntm all of the ::cough cough:: well...other things I did. and the bastards at AOL support only hit me with the ban hammer one single time. however, to be fair, when all of my online shenanigans and mischief DID finally catch up with me, it was bad....like VERY bad....like facing multiple felonies before I was even old enough to drive bad. lol :/

I can look back on those days now and admit that I definitely went too far towards the end of my "run" in that now famed corner of internet history . idk man..i was young, dumb and i just felt untouchable. i can't even explain the pride, power and excitement that i felt back then being involved in the whole AOHack/WaReZ 'circles'.

It actually feels good, looking back, to know that i was among some of the first people to ever look at a computer (and the internet) and think "hmmm...how can i break this thing and put it back together in a way that will make it do something cool or useful?").. we were pioneers in a sense. i saw the internet as a sort of brand new "exotic sports car" and i was able to understand what that car would one day be capable of doing. and at the same time i knew that we all basically had the keys to this new 'Ferrari' (i.e. we knew all of it's interior workings, how to rev that engine just right and when to put the pedal to the metal and let it rip on the highway) and the entire community back then just had an overall feeling of excitement and wonder.

Gawd...after reading this back to myself it really makes me miss those days. Wish i could go back and do it all over again. But not too change my decisions or my path in life...just to re-live that entire era in computing and the internet. it was beautiful boys...magical almost. <3

Lumi The Impaler - [or "LuMiN0SiS" - if the year is 1995 lol]

[Creator of AOHack cult classics, such as: "iLLumin8'd - finyL"... "hAX0r dAt bUttCRaCK" (v1 & v2)... and eveyone's favorite "taKeZ dAt bUttCRaCK v-X") these progz i named were mainly only circulated amongst close friends and those who i regularly interacted with in the community. however, like all software in the 90's they ended up on WaReZ sites and WaReZ chat server lists eventually. s theres a chance some of you may be familiar with them or recognize the names of them. if you actually do recognize any of these titles, say hello and tell me which progz u used! and if you do see this post and you knew from back then please say hi! would love to chat with some old friends. ]

haha yeah, when you would type in their account in the [WHO DO YOU WANT TO PUNT] box, you would mass IM, them and close the IM window, and do this atleast 25times per scond, until the person you punted would get kicked off lol.
messing around with progies got involved into some deeper shit then punters, I had federal agents show up @ my house, and here I is only 13. LOL@ wayback when you could make $$ from stores like wally world by using a program on AOL. it was a progie.funtimes lol.

the feds were so bewildered by what i could do that they never charged me, instead they gave me work, and was only 13. this was AOL 2.0-3.0?
How were you making $$$ from stores via chat/IM punting? Or was it more like you would mass email or punt someone and tell them something like "If you want me to stop, send me x amount of $$$..."

What work did the agents want you to do?

I had got into some deep shit which resulted with a lot of people losing money.
You have to think, this was at a time where the internet was still wet behind the ears. I would take advantage of it.
Without getting into much detail, I was fucking 13, I did not know shit about OPSEC so everything I did was ofcourse monitored.
I was under the assumption that once I log into AOL or Netscape Navigator that everything was all good as privacy goes.
Wasn't the way I wanted it to go down. Ended up getting a visit. Not one you want to get.

Trust me the feds and aol werent worried about punters at all. By 1998 you had kids gaining access to the AOL intranet and inner networks. Kids were strealing screen names but had access to the aol's internal program called CRIS and eventually Merlin but had access to CCs numbers so they were charged. Look up "aol hacker cam0"

Plenty of people went to jail and/or got sued using aol to spam. Look up "aol hacker misitk, aol hacker buD and aol hacker ytcracker"

AOL had a shitload of security breaches no one really knew about.

Some kid with a punter was not something anyone was worried about. If a fed came to your door and knew anything about your leet punter you were looking up kiddy porn and they came to see you and stumbked upon it i dont see why a fed would some visit for aomething that stupid. Punters had been around sincr 2.5 which was what....93?

Its embarassing but i got pretty deep into it

I even learned a bit of FDO
I was never into any of this in the early through late 1990s or very early 2000s. I was too busy seeing as many live bands as I could in my region, taking drugs, working/taking classes, camping, and traveling. I have younger friends who did get into this stuff on the internet but they all learned how to code before it was mainstream, and studied computer science, IT, etc. at universities.

I do remember one of my friends using a mass email program to email myself and other people we knew only eleven mass emails. One of our friends' his dad called law enforcement but nothing was done.

Another friend hacked into the unsecured school network and changed a class required for graduation that he was going to fail to a high grade and he was never caught.

My friend who works in IT now and the friends who coded or studied computer science never did this and I never did this. However, my IT friend had a neighbor who would invite people over to hang out and this guy would always have the newest and latest expensive technology, he was the first person I knew who had a laserdisc and later DVD/Bluray, he would have the latest super expensive apple/mac products, videogame systems, stereos, etc.

I figured he had very wealthy parents or something, as unlike all of us he never worked. Then when we were drinking back when I used to drink and take drugs, at a party where everyone was drunk and high my IT friend said how his neighbor would get the latest tech from phreaking not phone phreaking making free long distance calls, but his neighbor would steal CCs online and have it all shipped to some empty house up the street where the former owners had moved. I do not know how often he did this, if he got caught/arrested, etc. Or if he did it once, and his parents found out and said "Stop, do not ever do it again if you want a new computer, stereo, etc. we will buy it for the family."
