I'm interested to learn about cults.
Not necessarily the famous ones that everyone has heard about at some point in their lifes, but lesser known ones.
If anyone here has personal experience to share, that would be great. But links to hard to find articles or pointers are welcome, too.

I also have some some questions like:
- How do YOU define a cult?
- In your opinion, are cults always "bad"?
- Religion/soirituality - a necessary part of a cult?

This one man named Denny Sassafras tricked me into mowing his lawn. Then he beat me, kidnapped me, and made me eat dusty old raisins and watch DEI training videos until I singed over my house and cars to some funny little man with a tall orange hat named Zutroy The Omniscient Rascal From Rectus 9. Then they made me eat even older, dustier raisins until I soiled myself out of both ends. I only got my Daihatsu back which I have to sleep in now. My pet dog, Chichi, has a bladder infection and my eyeballs hurt from getting poked with two chopsticks by some sassy dingus named Kang. Get out of the library and my dang toaster you snapdragon eating aviation expert!

Anyone here heard of the ant hill kids cult that was in Canada? For me that shit is more brutal then fucking jonestown in a way. The leader was a guy named roch Thériault who they made a movie about called the savage messiah which i have to say was a unpleasant watch even if some of it was tamed down just because.

The leader met his just deserts in prison when a guy stabbed the shit out of him and killed his useless ass.

He used to literally shit on his followers. Make them eat his shit. And beat them with hammers and axes. Make them eat each others shit.
Fucking ‘human’ garbage.
 
I think I saw a documentary about that one. But it was a short one, little grizzly details.
 
There's these series on Netflix about "How to become a..."
And one season is about cult leaders. They mostly use spiritual hooks to get their followers.

We had Luz de Antares here in Chile. Small, and short-lived cult.

And he nailed fucking babies to trees i mean jesus christ how bad can a person actually get?

The guy who killed him in prison was a Newfoundlander like me now that i remember it. Hopefully it was a painful death
 
I guess there are a lot of cults that are non-violent in that way. Maybe more like terrorist organizations. I Renner reading a book about Baader-Meinhof (German terrorists in the 1970s) and they had a similar way to drag people into their circle than many cult leaders.

Ever reading the wiki on this shit is honestly pretty fucking disturbing. So fair warning. This guy may not have had the body count of jonestown but honestly this makes jonestown look like a fucking disney movie by comparison.

And nope there arent many of us on bl your like only the 3rd one ive met on here
 
Everyone in my life thought that I was on a cult for a few years
it was a 12 step program.. and because I’d come home with all of these new ideas and things I wanted to do and.., whatever , just stuff that would never come out of my mouth , normally. Under any circumstance.

But they were joking/seeious . A couple friends were serious/joking(kinda)
