Anyone out there tapering from suboxone? I am curious how it's going for others. Wondering how long it's going to take. Right now I'm cutting 8mg strip into thirds. It seems to go well most days but sometimes by night my eyes are already watering and feel uncomfortable and sometimes I can shake it off, other times I will tell myself, why suffer when I have them, so I will cut a small sliver and that's when I realize how super potent it is, that teeny piece will keep the withdrawals at bay. I realize that I am going to experience some discomfort but trying my best to keep it minimal. I don't crave getting opiate high anymore, I just can't do the withdrawal... through the years it became a monthly event and I was just so sick all the time in addition to legit chronic pain, which is what started it all. When I try to go lower than the 3mg I found the depression to be so awful I have not been able completely do it every day yet and find myself going for that tiny sliver about three times a week. I was thinking about maybe getting medical cannabis maybe to help with the depression. An etiz here and there can help with bad anxiety but I surely do not want to go down the benzo or theo road. Any ideas? How is your taper going? I remain uncomfortably numb.
Anyone???

Tapering is definately not easy and the further into the taper, the more noticable the negative side effects seem to be, obviously lol.
Due to economic reasons, in the course of two years I have gone from 16mg a day down to about 3 or 4 mg's and really have a hell of a time going beneath that. Gabapentin has helped immensely with the psychologically depressive part but that in itself is a whole nother can of worms, dang near as awful as benzos.
At any rate keep up the great work! i think medical ganj is a great idea, as long as it doesnt interfere with employment and /or other aspects of your life and recovery.
Just try a taking sliver less then ur comfortable dose just once a week or less even and then slowly try it more frequently. You'll get it though, just hang in there and stay positive!

hey.. thanks for your response. ok so around 3-4mg seems to be where it does get to be difficult for you as well. Oh ya, economic reasons.... even with my insurance I was paying 160 a month and had a 600 deductible, then I switched to film and after deductible its around 40, but because I go to a clinic, I have a co pay and a co pay for therapist twice a month, I have been struggling to find grocery money half way through the month. I hate how they start everyone out on such a high dose. It's quite deceiving when I first started to taper 16 to 8 not much of a difference really, I thought wow this isn't going to be so bad. Oh ya gabapentin....my doctor gives me those, just had them increased to 600mg I wished they worked for me, but they don't seem to do much, unless I take double the amount then I get some relief. I am glad that they are helping you. The medical ganj is another money thing. It's ridiculous, here the dispensaries are completely sold out and not even accepting new patients yet, it may be another 6 months, however I was lucky enough to try a vape oil and OMG, I'm no stranger to it, and it was amazing, was 78 percent thc and I felt like a million bucks, could not believe how clean and wonderful it felt. So.... I am going to start saving now, I don't work anymore, did high stress corporate work for many years, training and travel and ruined my neck and had to get on disability, then my husband died in my arms from Agent Orange complications. So after the funeral I went to the sub clinic. Nothing like trying get through all that while worrying if I had enough pills to get through the funeral and all. Oh what a mess I got myself into. And have been digging myself out ever since. But at least I still have my home and my sanity..... barely.. so it's just me and my Boxer puppy Cooper and my husband's dog Louie . I do have a good family ...me my mom and my sister are all widows so we help each other out, and a couple good friends, so I do count my blessings. Wish I was back in Florida most days well November through March! So... I guess the oil is the way to go. 200 bucks for the doctor plus registration fees and the oil is expensive. But if a vial I think it's 1ml would last a month might be worth it. Congrats on your hard work as well. It feels good to know sometimes that your not alone. Although I do not want that to sound wrong cause I don't think I would not wish this on my worst enemy so to speak. Wishing you the best with your continued success! I am always around if you ever want to share any tips. So I broke down did my sliver and it kept me up all damn night... ugh!!!! Gotta get some more melatonin. So I remain uncomfortablly numb. haha.
Thanks again for your input advice and support.
Peace.
