I'm really good (no, really), but not near Bristol. Get yersen to Nottingham and I'll teach you how to rock! I used to do guitar lessons a few years back but jacked it in as difficult to fit round work.

My old man play bass or lead and is doing lessons. Problem is he likes the crusty golden oldies and its harder to learn something if its not that appealing. He is really good and has been in bands for years plus would do the lessons cheap but to be honest you would find it easier if someone taught you that has roughly the same taste. I can ask him if you would like to enquire though?

http://www.justinguitar.com <-- excellent source of free lessons.

It always helps to start off with face-to-face lessons (assuming you are new to guitar) but it's not a requirement.

If you are going to get lessons, use Google. Just because someone says they are good at guitar doesn't mean they are a good teacher - best to find someone who does it for a living / on the side.

Link fixed.

Those are YouTube based. Justin Sandercoe is a legend...

Justin produced and wrote tracks for Katie Melua and played electric and acoustic guitar in her live band between 2005 and 2008. He also taught her guitar from the start of her career.

Easily the best collection of lessons, although I am sure other great lessons exist on YouTube.
