Anyone else NOT get euphoria from coke?

Maybe its a blessing since both my parents had a problem with it, but I have seriously never gotten any euphoria from cocaine. I havnt just done shit coke either. I was in Latin America and I got pure stuff, better than anything you find north of Guatemala. Its practically legal in Costa Rica, at least for personal use...its like asking for a cigarette practically. lol.

So whats wrong with me?

I get plenty of euphoria from MDMA. I get tons of euphoria from stimulants....hell, a strong dose of Guarana will give me a better buzz than a line of coke....I suspect there are some other xanthines in there that give it a better quality than coffee. The effect I got from coke was perhaps more novel than a cup of green tea (though not more enjoyable than a cup of real Japanese style Sencha), but it didnt stimulate me as much as caffeine or ephedra, left me numb feeling, no increased sociability or anything, then...crash. No energy, depressed, feel like shit...

How can people get addicted to this stuff? Whats the point? Is this drug doing something to everyone else but I am just somehow immune to it?

did you find it hard to talk when you tried it? i found that for me a lot of the time it would make me so anxious that i couldnt enjoy it, i couldnt talk, i just felt bugged out. other times when i wasnt so anxious it was great. i doubt you alone are immune to its effects.

Only when I smoked freebase.....I did finally get an effect from freebase that I didnt get from powder, but it was so short lived, all the anxiety of strong amphetamines but HALF the euphoria...everyone talks about how stims are more productive but less euphoric, but for me I get more euphoria from the stims.....but I do get anxiety which is why I dont do them anymore.

The worst part is that the moment it wears off you feel like shit....I mean, a few hours into the night I will feel like shit. I will be going to bed at 8pm instead of partying til 5am if I was sober or 3 in the afternoon the next day if I trip. You have to keep taking it to say awake and not feel crappy, but its not even that good.



Maybe something is wrong with my brain? Do I lack a receptor that everyone else has? Something like ADHD where stimulants affect them differently?

Yeah I'm kind of in the same boat (although I'm not so sure I just haven't always done shit coke). I do get some enjoyment out of it, but it's certainly less euphoric than amphetamines, and nothing compared to MDMA.

It could just be a "different strokes for different folks" kind of thing. I LOVE my opiates, but Ive given suitable doses to plenty of people who have found them boring.

I'm with you. I get too anxious and jittery to experience any sort of euphoria and its so short lived that I'd come up and down like a roller coaster after each line.

Only reason I'd ever *USED* to but it was to buy wholesale at very cheap prices to sell, only to support my friend and I's Heroin habit. We would always have extra behind. We would sometimes do a speedball which DID put the coke to use.

I have no idea how people get addicted to it.

Nope. I only shot up once in my teenage years and nearly killed myself. I was a wreck at the time though and was acting reckless without any notions of self preservation. I was caught in a bizarre love hexagon and dealing with a 'tough call' involving my underage girlfriend (we both were).

Anyway, I came out of it ok, for a while.

I bet shooting it would be a totally different high..I mean, it gives you that numb feeling in your nose. I bet IV would give you a full body numbing that might make you feel light as air and pain free while still awake and stimulated....but still....It just doesnt pack the punch of euphoria that amphetamines pack....Even herbal stimulants give me a more powerful buzz.....A potent extract of Sida Cordifolia with with Guarana/green tea and Fo-Ti and Angelica Archangelica and maybe some blue lotus...thats pretty blissed out for an herbal high and possibly more enjoyable (to me) than snorting high quality coke.

The combination of coke and speed (Pink Champagne? or is that an RC?) was uniquely and incredibly euphoric, more than any stim by itself, but it was also incredibly fiendish. You come down off the coke still spun and the craving gets kicked into hyperdrive long before the stims wear off...and its also a deadly combo because you are fiending for one drug thats mixed with another that is longer acting and building up in your system. Thats a recipe for death. The cravings come instantly from the very first line.



Anyway, I think I am just one of those people who isnt particularly wired to enjoy cocaine. Its probably for the best. Its an expensive habit.

If I could just get my Crohns into remission I could kick the opiates and just smoke weed and drink tea and do yoga/Martial arts, and use the occasional psychedelic. Thats the best lifestyle for me.

Basically its an overrated drug, people expect too much from it imo. And the street quality here right now (UK) is so shite that mephedrone is rapidly taking over its market.

The coke quality in Latin America was supposedly excellent. I did two "monsters" myself one night...everyone else enjoyed it, but I was hardly impressed.

I think maybe I just lack the receptors for it, or maybe I dont absorb it well....whatever the story, I feel its a highly overrated drug and way too expensive for too little euphoria.

Yep, I'm hearing about *previously prepared pre-ban*1g bags on the street, properly sealed in that same type of packaging spice & the like comes in, so pure/uncut still. Price has gone up quite a bit tho.

My parents pretty much met that way actually. I've done it a little more than a handful of times, and have had shitty coke and really good coke. I honestly don't understand the point of it either --- the first few times it didn't seem to do much, and then I did get some great feelings from it. However, because it's usually cut, it just plugs up my nose and makes my hangover 100x worse, and it turns me into a total fiend --- only drug I've ever done that made me want nothing but MORE of it.

Nothing wrong with you --- I just don't think it's my thing. I've never IVed it or anything but have no interest in it -- it's extremely expensive, and I can use that same limited about of cash on drugs that feel better.

IV coke doesn't produce a full body high because it's just a local anaesthetic. Otherwise sniffing it would produce full on anaesthesia too.

Highly addictive, short lasting, fiendish/moorish, minimal euphoria compared to cheaper and longer lasting drugs....sounds like a winner.

The good thing about coke compared to meth is that you can sleep afterwords....like right afterwords unless you have more.


I dont want to exaggerate...its not like coke is a horrible feeling. Its pleasant...and compared to the comedown its very pleasant. I almost think the instant comedown creates the illusion that it feels better than it actually does though...its all contrast and you start to feel like shit unless you have more of it, almost instantly. Its a great drug to sell if you want to take all of a rich persons money away from them, but you can have a mind blowing experience for a fraction of the cost.


I have friends who have a different story though....they describe this rush of euphoria, even fro crappy coke, say they feel like they are dancing on clouds...Im not sure if I should be jealous that they get this effect or grateful that I wont get hooked.

You know, I don't really dig the drug either and I've had a good amount of experience with it. I find I tap out at 5 hours and after that, I'm just not having fun anymore. It's that damn more more more thing about it too that really makes me think twice about a night out with her... not to say that we don't meet up from time to time somehow we never part on good terms lol...

I hate cocaine wow I really said that..there was a time when I would walk a mile for a line of good cocaine but I couldn't even fathom the taste of that shit today..thank god the obsession has been lifted

First post. I've done 100% pharmaceutical grade yay. No euphoria. I try to figure out why and i have a theory

I've always had ADD/ADHD symptoms, and I know one theory is that the brain doesn't release normal levels of dopamine (DA) hence they prescribe amphetamine.

I think my brain, and those of others that experience the same thing on cocaine, dont naturally release as much DA as is normal in the population. Since cocaine exerts its effects by blocking DA reuptake, if theres lower tonic (normal) levels of DA, theres not as much in the synaptic cleft when you take cocaine, and thus no euphoria.

This hypothesis can be validated by the fact that in these individuals who don't experience euphoria, most will if they take amphetamine/methamphetamine. This makes sense, as we (the ppl who dont get coke euphoria) probably have no defeceit in DA production; only its release. So we release normal levels upon amphetamine administration as other individuals, and feel euphoria from these drugs (which cause release of DA rather than block reuptake)

Its worthwhile to state that changes in ones brain can reduce tonic (normal) DA release, as opposed to just lifelong/innately low levels. Use of opiates, both chronic and acute, will result lower DA release in the nucleus accumbens. Most of us are probably guilty of this.... Other things that reduce DA release besides genetic factors and drug use are pain( esp. Chronic pain and neuropathic pain), depression, and especially stress.

I used to get euphoria from cocaine when younger and started using it; around 18 y.o. Im twice as old now and it doesn't happen for me, regardless of dose or route of admin. However, if I use it, I still crave the need for more after its over, this despite the lack of euphoria and aversive symptoms of use (anxiety, lack of social interaction, lack of drive etc, basically opposite the effects normal ppl experience)

Good quality cocaine has always hit the spot for me. It seems like cocaine threads on BL always follow the same route: 1) complain about how cocaine is overrated and expensive (which it is), then 2) reassure everyone that you've done "good cocaine", and not just crap. I guess it just comes down to the banal fact that people get different levels of enjoyment out of different psychoactive drugs *shrug

I have experience alot of coke on many different occasions and none of them closely done in the same time frame. The effects of lsd o are way more euphoric as an upper than coke and don't make you crawl for more so I prefer lsd to any other stimulant. Molly being on the same basis. Don't get the effect of it like the people around me either. Even with molly it last me somewhere around 15 min and i would have to redose. That's at taking 2.5 g caps at a given time or doing 3 g of coke on one sitting so not worth the money. More of a novelty drug.
