Ambien: hallucinations and addiction

I've been snorting 5 to 20mg of ambien almost everynight for about the last 6 weeks and have become addicted. I just thought I'd post this thread to clear up any past confusion about the drug... Yes, it IS hallucinogenic if you stay up on it, especially when snorted - the effects set in much faster and the visuals are more intense. Mostly I've noticed morphing of static objects, and the hallucination of people that aren't there. I don't know if I'd consider it a "psychadelic" persay but it does have some very interesting effects. When taken in higher doses I find myself blacking out and automatically redosing.. which can be dangerous if you have access to a car or anything, because you're most likely going to act like a sleepwalking person and not remember any of it when you wake up. Is there anybody else out there addicted to ambien? I don't know many people who use it as a recreational drug like I do. Also, if you've had any crazy experiences with ambien please feel free to post in reply. 8o

Last time I took 20mg of Ambien I almost got arrested because of my bizzare behavior.......be very careful on this stuff
 
Sniffing Ambien?

Someone I was partying with last night says tahts fun. I dunno though, I worry about the idea. What are the effects?
 
Snorting it is foolish (as is snorting most pills) since eating it works just as well, but yes, ambien will make you trip out.

As for addiction, it's certainly less addictive than say, benzos, but any drug has the potential to be psychologically addictive.
 
why dont people use good drugs for rec value? snorting ambien has got to be one of the dumbest things i have ever heard. and its spelled psychedelic/
 
While I agree that snorting pills is a bit unnecessary, I dont agree that just because a drug isnt socially recreational, it isnt worth doing. Ambien to me is very interesting and powerful, and it makes me wonder whether some of these people who say its not a drug have ever even tried it.

Ive had some experiences when I first started with it that were interesting, such as watching the paint strokes in my ceiling swirl, complete loss of equilibrium, and a weird sense of bending light.

I dont get the unusual affects anymore even after I havent taken it for a month or two which kind of sucks. But I can definately see where an addiction could form. I wish you luck and hope you overcome this.

i will admit i never tries it, but nothing i have evr read about it has wanted me to do it instead of acid/shrooms or pot. and i have no problems sleeping... mmmm 10 strips of acid are so nice:)

i do this too (orally)
such a bad idea
i never remember doing it, and apprently i get very agressive and rude to people trying to stop me.
my boy and i call ambien the three oclock pill... if i take too much/stay up too long on it i am up until at least 3 oclock talking, being loud, annoying and redosing


i dont really take it recreationally because i love it/need it to sleep and dont want to "waste" it. the probelms start when i think things like -hey, i want a really very nice night of sleep, i think ill take, hrm two or three... which then turns into more and more over the night

the day before yesterday I took 5 ambien 30mg each, and they were just like bars, the next day I couldn't for the life of me remember what happened. All I barely remember is singing and watching small clips of the movie shakespear in love. THATS IT!! the rest is totally blank. I hope I didn't do anything super stupid.
but yes I agree it is addictive.

There is no such thing as a 30 mg ambien.
 
^^^ That's right, they only come in 5mg and 10mg.

I have a 10mg/day(night) script for ambien. I have definetly had many extremely bizzare experiances with it. Since I takei t daily the effect isn't as strong but sometimes if you stay awake too long you miss your chance to sleep and either gotta take more or wait till you just fall asleep anyway.

They work very well recreationally and pretty good as a sleep aid because they help you fall asleep and wear off in 2-3 hours.
 
Ambien didnt help my insomnia much because I dont have much trouble falling asleep, but staying asleep is nearly impossible. I would take doses up to 50mg, fall asleep for around 2 hours, than wake up abruptly. I have also tried ambien intravenously, at 30mg and 40mg. It did have a rush, but I wouldnt characterize it as enjoyable. This drug is not for me.
 
Ambiem

Ambiem is a sly drug.

I took it once and got a good nights sleep.

I took it another time and lost about 5 hours. Apparently I drove my car around the streets, laughed at the walls in my house and had a conversation with my father about Jim Carrey and his 3 heads????

I will never take it again.
 
I also have a script for Ambien 10 - 1 per night. I have had some bizarre experiences with it. definately time loss. It is only psychedelic when I absolutely don't expect it. When I am not expecting it I have found myself in some wild situations. I have been part of huge machines (during sex I guess I told my girlfriend that we were part of a machine in a basement keeping some system going (she was not impressed)), an alien on mars, and wandered around my neighborhood apparently talking to animals. If I try to wait for something to happen - nothing happens, and I miss my opportuninty to go to sleep.

As far as sleeping, sometimes I can take 3 of them and still not fall asleep - other times I will fall asleep withing 20 minutes of taking one.
 
Ohhh Ambien...god, where do I start. I have had so much access and so much experience with this drug. I mean this is in a VERY bad way. Here are a few of the things that have happened to me in my strange journey with this very "unique" (dark, scary, confusing) drug:

*Use to dose up to 90mg and did 30mg regularly for a point.
*Have nearly overdosed twice from combining 20+mg and about 4-6 shots of vodka. I lost all memory of these occurences except for the actual ingestion.
*Fallen down 2 flights of stairs at a neighbor's house.
*Called my girlfriend starting at about midnight til 2am every 5 minutes and would forget that I had called her.

Overall, what do I think of Ambien? It has definite potential for psychedelic abuse. A very bizzarre type of reason/logic is formed by the drug, as well as strong muscle relaxant and sedative properties. Personally, I find this drug very pleasurable recreationally as long as it is used alone (especially w/ out ANY alcohol) and in strict moderation (take no more than 20mg then hide the bottle from yourself so you won't take the whole bottle while you're zombified). 8(
 
Funny, I just took 10mg ambien from the first time in a while about 25 min ago, since I going through self induceed narcotic withdrawls.. I have a script for them for 1 and 1/2 tabs a night/

This drug, at only doses of 15mg, ,has caused severe hallucinations, though was drinking every time! My wife almost called an ambulencee twice!. I saw atalked to a demon ifgure every time I took it! Extreme emotional swings, , I broke down a cried like a baby, and I never cry, aloways hold it in, ,lol. I even hit my self after tlaking to my pants!, they should not have been there, ,lol. Crazy drug. Can be fun, and then not. I find that 5mg wiht iut alcohol does aid sleep inducing, ,but 10 or higher gets craezy with me!

Ambien 10-mg tablets are capsule-shaped, white, film coated, identified with markings of AMB 10 on one side and 5421 on the other."

You might be thinking of something else... or maybe they have 20mg pills in other countries...

Maybe so, I am perscribed 2 10mg ambiens because I requested this instead of one stronger pill per night. So, that makes sense.
