this woman?

julia_louis_dreyfus_photo_8.jpg

she's one of the hottest women I've ever seen.

Julia louis-dreyfus not Juliette. ;)
I agree she is gorgeous!
Elaine Benes is one of my favorite television characters ever. :D

On topic:

Eating tons of raw food (especially raw green smoothies)
Exercise.
Oil pulling (I don't care what the skeptics say, its amazing and it WORKS for me)
Going gluten free
No alcohol or cigarettes
Regular detoxing/cleanses/herbs whatever I need at the time

^All these things de-aged me a lot.

peace of mind is the best thing for staying young n youthful

stress is destructive for your looks

^ ^ Ain't that the truth. Stress is destructive for your mind as well.

There's a definite connection between state of mind and beauty. Happier, more at ease people seem to have prettier faces than those worrying all the time. It shows. That means that when you worry, it's not an isolated event-stuff is happening physically, too: unnecessary muscle tension, shallow breathing, unnecessary eye movements, certain hormones being released, and I'm sure more.

Vitamin E and Vitamin C are great. Oxygen too. I would like a oxygen tank with breathing equiptment for when I'm not in nature. Its so refreshing!
If you use hyperbaric oxygen tanks, then you should also try far-infrared wave shauna therapy, they are great for detox and you come out totally refreshed and glowing and looking young!!

Also, collonic irrigations, are great for your health!!

- Eating smaller meals. Consumption of food is the #1 mode of bacterial placement into the human body. Bodily stress is increased when the system is forced to fight large amounts of bacteria during digestion.

- Brushing of teeth, especially before bedtime and upon waking. As with above, it is stressful on the body to be swallowing bacteria.

- Flossing. Bacteria between teeth makes its way into the blood stream. There are studies which suggest a correlation between non-flossers and those who suffer from heart disease.

Hmmm... well what kind of damage are we talking about?

Your best bet for reversing damage caused by drug-use is, like it or not, stopping the use of the drugs, which will allow your body to repair itself, restore balances, etc. That's the hard truth.

If we're talking about neural damage, then the following will help: computer-assisted neural training (I kid you not... there has been some very good research recently showing that some of these programs produce real gains), exercising and using your brain regularly (this includes taking on novel tasks--like learning a new language, or a new game, or a new subject--as well as continuing with tasks you may have done for a while, such as play chess, crossword puzzles, etc.), practicing memorizing, etc.

In addition, aerobic exercise has shown to increase blood flow to the brain and possibly increase neurogenesis.

Other than that, your keys are:

Eat healthy. Keep your cholesterol low. Exercise regularly. Sleep regularly (if you have trouble, try transcendental meditation or progressive muscle relaxation).

See a doctor regularly, and explain your concerns.

A fellow TM'er?! Where did you learn? I've been off TM regularly for a few months now, and I definitely miss the bliss and lightness that regular practice endows :D

nice. I took the TM sidhis course 2 years ago, and it was by far the best (highest) 2 weeks of my life :) Must get back to that silence, such sweet bliss it is :D
Drugs make it very hard to properly transcend...;)except for psychedelics...herb discluded:(

Cut back (or eliminate) high fructose corn syrup. It is very hard for yourbody to digest, and also contains genetically modifed organisms.

Avoid the sun!

I'm 33 and can't get a drink without being carded. I also use sun screen moisturizer (oil of olay, so not even expensive stuff) every day if I go out. I haven't been using it to jog outside, but I used to put it on every day before I went to work.

I also take a multivitamin every day and use toner every day.

I'm on and off taking flaxseed oil, but I try to always take 2 teaspoons a day.

I'm on and off with exercise too. This past year is the longest I've gone without walking/running for at least a mile 3-4 times a week.

No cigarettes! Ever seen some of those women who smoke a pack a day and drink tons of coffee every day for yearrrrrs? They are gross.

Also, a lot of it is in the genes. Some people just have awesome genes for anti-aging like Juliette Dreyfuss (sp?).

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look about 10 years younger than you actually are. :DWowwww.

bump, why is everyone saying avoid nicotine?

is it really that detremental to your looks?

Nicotine makes you look older because it lowers estrogen levels, leading to e.g. deeper voice and hair loss.

I am very interested in substances and activities which inhibit age and combat damage caused by medicinal and recreational drug intake.

I think its a good idea to start a list of healthy activities and nutritional supplements which inhibit age (I do not wish to live a long life, but instead preserve my youth).

I love Kombucha, Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen, Acai, Cacao....

Solitary walks in the woods are one of my favorite activities. I can not wait until spring! <3

Cannabis!

Really, though, at this point nothing has been really demonstrated to prevent aging. Eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise and sleep, and not getting too much sun or alcohol are the best you can do.

I love how almost every reply in this thread is completely different. Its fucking awesome. :D

pu-erh tea is the miracle cure

i've tried all the alternative treatments for lyme disease and for some reason drinking at least 4 cups of high quality puerh a day made my symptoms pretty much completely disappear.

I've spent over 75,000 dollars in the last 3 years on my treatment (not covered by insurance) and puerh (surprisingly) has been the best investment.

who woulda thought? =D

Fountain of Youth

Somewhere in Florida, a bunch of French guys went looking for it a while back but died before they could get there. I'm assuming with the recent advancements in transportation you should have a much easier time.
